Re: Portability
Heck yeah! The last year of my life has been spent trying to answer a similar question for myself. You don't want a raspberry pi, not unless you're not expecting to demand much from the system. You want to build a mini itx or nano itx system and put it in the smallest, coolest (literally and figurat...

Buzz Benchmark
I just poured some more money into my computer, and I've finally gotten a respectable cooler so I'm starting to overclock, all with the intention of making my computer a better musical instrument. In the past, the methodology of stress testing your pc was to use a synthetic benchmark like intel burn...

Make sure to consider if your hardware has drivers for the new OS though!

Interesting, is this any different from just searching buzz machines?

Here's one from magmavander via buzz wiki.
In pattern editor if you want to set the number of steps the cursor moves after entering a value:
"CTRL + 0-9 Set the number of rows the cursor steps down when you enter notes and other values. Default is 1."

Re: Buzz at 192khz?
I'm likely going to shoot for 96khz. I'm not currently using any syths or effects outside the purview of buzz, but I'm very excited by the idea of using all the most computationally intensive stuff out there, and building my computers around that. I've currently got a 4770k i7 and I'm definitely not...

Re: Is this laptop good enough?
Buzz itself has very minimal system requirements, and most of the native buzz machines have very low system requirements as well, although there are some exceptions. In my experiences before I started using VST instruments, what ate most of my cpu was reverb. I've seen some posters who take it as a ...

Also thanks for buzz wiki. I need to spend more time there! Perhaps I'll contribute when I become more knowledgeable.

Re: Engine Preferences
Thanks very much! I have been restricting buzz to 4 cores when I'm running guitar rig alongside it, but if I get guitar rig working within buzz as a vst I suppose that won't be necessary. If I can get away with it I'm going to use this little computer I built to run a projector as well as buzz and g...

Re: Best audio drivers for tone (all praises to polac)
Thanks for the advice! I hadn't really considered that as an option. I'm still learning the Polac suite, and didn't know about polac audio in. Using WDM kernel streaming did feel a bit like a janky workaround, so I'll see if I can get guitar rig working as a vst in buzz. As to the rest of the stuff ...

Re: Buzz at 192khz?
Hey sorry, I didn't notice your guys last two comments before my post. Thanks for your attention and for testing my issue yourselves. I figured out that it's necessary to restart buzz for the changes to take effect. I was able to get 192khz working, but the main benefit seemed to be that I heard som...

Re: Post your favorite VST instruments and effects
Fuzzpilz! I don't know if I'm alone in this, but one of my favorite synthesizers when I first started was Orange Kid. I don't know why, but it just seemed to have a great, raw tone. Favorite synth to play with my fingers for a long time. What's going on with Oatmeal? I am way excited to try Corona, ...

Engine Preferences
The engine preferences of Buzz is a place that we all visit, but who knows what it all really means? We have amplifier response time, which doesn't seem to affect my latency through midi, is it the response time of the internal logic within the machines? *demonstrates ignorance* Then, if multithread...

Best audio drivers for tone (all praises to polac)
As we all know Buzz comes with a selection of audio drivers. In my experience on windows 7 Wasapi works great without any additional fiddling and it's low latency. When I was on windows xp I believe I was using DirectX which sounded all right to me. However, After getting the Polac suite, and being ...

Re: Buzz at 192khz?
I got it working, although it sounds weird. Sadly I can't really spend some time with it until I get some issues with my sound card Ironed out. At 192khz or near it I get a lot of high pitched noise when I'm operating through buzz. I was able to get polac asio to work by restarting buzz with it in e...

I'm certainly late to the game, but thanks to the amazing work of polac, we have support for vst within buzz. What are some of your favorite plugins? The only one I have much experience with so far is FXPansion Geist sampling drum machine. It's pretty amazing. One stand out feature for me is that it...
