Re: Buzz at 192khz?

I'm having some driver issues that have caused me to have another BSOD, my third on this system. I'm going to wait until I update my drivers before I experiment with this further, but yeah so far I can't get any sound out of polac asio.

Re: Buzz at 192khz?

Interesting! Well I tested a bunch of my synths, and had the same result with all of them. I tried: arguelles alpha arguelles guru5 cyanphase slide flute fsm infector jeskola qsamo ld jacinth m4wII I haven't yet done the same experiment in modes other than wasapi though. Also, I'm only able to chang...

Buzz at 192khz?

Is this possible? My sound card supports duplex 192khz, and really wanted to try to experiment in this space. I really think that playing with synthesizers is one area where the sonic characteristics of 192khz could really pop out, but if I set Buzz up to work this way everything is off pitch! The h...

Re: recommended audio card / which driver?

I got a juli@xte. It's PCIe, It sounds great, has really excellent frequency response compared to other cards I've worked with, especially on the low and, and can gain your signal quite a lot. It has balanced inputs and outputs, so running my electronic music through an xlr cable into the vocal chan...

Re: Multiple cores?

"Lets start a trend. Everybody bring their nice, cool, desktops to their next show." That's what I'm going to do, no joke. This last year I built an ITX computer from a non traditional looking case and a lot of fairly high end parts. If you do go down this route one thing I learned is that...

Re: Polac VST crashes in certain circumstances.

Hmm, interesting. On my end it seems like that is definitely either a cause or a correlation, but of course I'm just a musician guy. The crash is very reproduceable and always occurs after the mpd interacts with vyzex and begins spewing sysx data, the crash goes away if I unplug and replug the mpd, ...

Re: Polac VST crashes in certain circumstances.

Update: Everything was so stable that I tried using the 64 bit plugin again. With the sysx situation fixed it was stable for a while. I could mash on the pads and I was actually able to get some work done, but when I switched midi channels to begin playing drums I had a complete system freeze. I lef...

Re: new pvst beta (updated 12-Jan-2014)

Hello, you can check the users forum if you'd like to see the crash I was getting from anomalous sysx data. I have a question though. Now that I've gotten this midi controller working, my next task is to get my faders and knobs working outside the vst I'm working with. I use these controllers for ph...

Re: Polac VST crashes in certain circumstances.

Happy to say I've solved the issue on my end. I can say for certain that the sysex data was crashing the plugin, because when I figured out how to remove the interleaved data the crashes disappeared. It turns out that saving a preset to the the MPD in vyzex, (which is the program that's used to edit...

Re: Polac VST crashes in certain circumstances.

Today I woke up with this problem still vexing me, so I tried another solution. I took the mpd and plugged it into the midi port of my sound card, rather than running it through the USB. This is kind of weird because I don't have the power supply for the mpd, so I had to keep the usb plugged in. So ...

Re: Polac VST crashes in certain circumstances.

I've found another way to produce a crash. If I play the pads and send midi note data while also playing the sliders and sending cc data, it causes a crash. This happens regardless of what machine I place within the vst wrapper. I tried it with m4w2 and jacinth anyway. And I have discovered somethin...

Re: Polac VST crashes in certain circumstances.

Welp I found a workaround fix. I moved the mpd to another usb port and I'm unable to reproduce the crash in the 32 bit version of the plugin, even when mashing all the pads at the same time. I'm sort of scared to try the 64 bit version tonight, as this hiccup interrupted my creative flow. But I'll t...

Polac VST crashes in certain circumstances.

A vst I'm working with, (geist) can accept midi data into different "engines" of the vst by using different midi channels. Today I configured the akai mpd to transmit each of it's 4 pad banks on a different channel, and the vst started crashing as soon as it received midi input. Buzz would...

Re: How to receive midi out from polac vst?

Thank you for your attention Polac. That was the first thing I tried, but wasn't able to receive data into pattern view. Maybe the vst isn't set to transmit correctly. I don't think so but I haven't learned everything there is to know about it yet. E: Actually, how do you mean? I've tried using midi...

How to receive midi out from polac vst?

I'm trying to get my patterns in geist to output to pattern xp. I've all the obvious things, and some less obvious things. Is the procedure to get midi out of a vst straightforward? I've even tried making an additional dummy version of geist to accept the input but I'm not having any luck. Do I need...

That's an interesting question and a fascinating musical idea. Would you elaborate on what exactly you're doing? Maybe I'll try it and see if I can reproduce the crash :)

Re: Akai MPD, Sample Grid, Piano Roll

I'm using geist now with polac vst and midi. Life is good. Everything is perfect. After working at this for many days my conclusion is that it's not possible, at least in modern x64 buzz, to have a workable solution to using an mpd as a sampler within the ecosystem of buzz machines. If you're trying...

Kyrie crashes buzz when receiving input from Polac Midi Bus

Got polac vst loader package today and am very pleased with the ability to attach machines that can normally not be played to the midi bus and play them! It seems to be a much better solution to the mc-1 if a bit more involved. Kyrie is amazing, but I don't use it that often because I prefer to have...
