Re: Menu flow left to right, on Windows 11 messed up
I wonder if I understand this issue correctly, but usually menus open to the right side - unless it's too close to the edge of the screen - in which case there's no space for the menu, and it opens up on the left side. Example: https://www.robotplanet.dk/f/buzzf/menu_flow_at_screen_edge.mp4 Maybe Wi...

Remix my electronica idea (free bmx)
Okay, so I felt like repeating last night's remix offer, and this time I went frisky - using four matilde trackers!

Hey, that's cool!
It's quite fun hearing someone else tweak around with this and adding stuff.

I came up with this more or less by accident, but I'm not sure I'm gonna finish it.

Just to separate things...
The focus stealing issue that we see in HerrFornit's videos is a general problem in Windows. I've seen it in many situations, and I hate it too. But it's most likely not something Polac can fix. This thread is specifically about the (different) problem when using drop-downs in a 64 bit JUCE based vs...

Re: new pvst beta (updated 11-Jul-2021)
Ohhhh, so the browser suddenly pops in front. I said in another thread that I hadn't experienced this problem (because i thought it was something PVST related), but after watching the video I'll take that back. What your video shows is a rather common problem in Windows, and I've seen it with many d...

Re: Flickering drop-down menus in PVST & 64-bit VST2 plugins
I have never experienced the focus stealing problem, which I believe is a completely separate issue.
This thread is only about the flickering (visible on the video in the first post).

Re: Flickering drop-down menus in PVST & 64-bit VST2 plugins
I just decided to compare an older build with the latest, so I picked build 34, and then tried DiscoDSP OB-XD 1.5 (VST2):
32-bit version doesn't flicker.
64-bit version flickers.
This happens with both PVST 34 and 37.
I cannot tell the difference between build 34 and 37 when it comes to this issue.

Re: Flickering drop-down menus in PVST & 64-bit VST2 plugins
That's odd. I just deleted my Buzz folder and did a clean install and then installed PVST build 37 there.
I still get the same flickering menus.
What am I missing?

Re: Flickering drop-down menus in PVST & 64-bit VST2 plugins
Thanks for looking into this. I wonder if this page may hold a clue to a good work-around. I have a feeling this is a problem specific to JUCE: https://github.com/juce-framework/JUCE/issues/401 FL Studio, while it can have embedded, bridged plugins, has a workaround; they don't set the WS_CHILD styl...

Re: Flickering drop-down menus in PVST & 64-bit VST2 plugins
That's exactly it. I recently spent 100 EUR on a vst that didn't work in Buzz or Samplitude - my two favorite DAWs at the moment - so that was sort of a bummer. But I think there's a fairly good chance I can have the developer recompile it, because he seems like a really nice guy who always responds...

Re: Flickering drop-down menus in PVST & 64-bit VST2 plugins
Yes can reproduce it here, I guess it can be fixed by disable "embedded gui" in the vst3shell settings. I know there are some problems with plugins done with the JUCE framework. Disabling "Embedded GUI" leaves me in a situation where I cannot close the VST UI once it's been open...

Flickering drop-down menus in PVST & 64-bit VST2 plugins
I still haven't found a solution to this problem, but I've just realized that it does not happen when using the same 64 bit plugin in 32 bit Samplitude. So perhaps this is actually a PVST specific problem? https://www.robotplanet.dk/f/buzzf/Valhalla_Space_Mod_PVST.mp4 It also happens in other 64-bit...
