Re: Beta test please? (New Mars algo)

I know it's super weird. It's not an equalizer when you're in this particular mode. In a few of the other modes, the "Treble" slider also isn't a normal treble adjustment, but rather some sort of mooshyness control ( very scientific term). Maybe the sliders should be called "treble be...

Re: Could someone please tell KiNK the good news...

I have trouble loading my oldest songs, but usually it's because they're using some really old machines that I stopped using because I found better replacements. And in that case I'll simply replace that machine and get better sound. It's more work, but it's worth it. The only bmx files I have that ...

Could someone please tell KiNK the good news...

www.residentadvisor.net/features/1213 He's saying that 1) Buzz adds a bit of silence when rendering out .wav files. --> I had oskari fix this! 2) That Buzz is unstable. --> My setup is extremely stable because I got rid of the machines causing Buzz.exe itself to appear unstable, but it was really be...

Re: Beta test please? (New Mars algo)

Does the bass slider feel like it's inverted?
I think it depends on what you send into it, but if it feels reverted to you, i'll change it.
I certainly wasn't sure which way it was supposed to go.

And thanks for testing. A few extra eyes on things is always a good thing.

Beta test please? (New Mars algo)

http://buzz.robotplanet.dk/machineinfo.php?id=7792 The last mode is new. I also changed an if statement, and if I goofed that up, the Bass/Treble sliders may have stopped working for certain modes. Please let me know if you experience this. PS: Remember that the treble and bass work in quite differe...

Re: Humanize in BUZZ, what values do you use?

What values are "good" depends very much on the situation and the kind of music you're doing. And it's cumbersome to deal with in Buzz because trackers can only do note delay with positive values, making it a hassle to place a note before the natural position of the tick. But as far as I c...

Re: Need some way to line up two wav's visually

I don't think it's realistic to turn Buzz into a tiny DAW as there are noone to implement these features, and the whole framework seems incompatible with this approach. My best suggestions is to have a normal DAW on the side, something like Cubase, Samplitude, Logic or similar. Even my automation id...

Re: which audio interface are you using with buzz?

Motu 2408mk3 + Motu 24 I/O

One cool thing about this setup is that it is capable of outputting DC, so that I can control CV/Gate and eurorack things with it straight from Buzz. I'm running them at 96 kHz which is the maximum.

Re: AMD Rysen worth it

Synthphase is right. Per-core performance is what you want. I don't know how Ryzen performs compared to my semi-old i7 because modern benchmark sites leave out the single most important thing for audio guys like us to know: The IEEE float 32-bit performance that one core can do. Generally benchmarks...

Arrrghh. Not only did you find an error in the data, obviously I also forgot to write who made the site.

I'll check it out. Thanks for letting me know.

Are you talking about Buzz or Buzé?

They are two different pieces of software written by different people.

Re: PeerCtrl crashing Buzz, any ideas?

The error happens in the desctructor, so it seems to be related to something being deallocated or removed. This could explain why it doesn't happen right away. Maybe try the big guns first: Install a new instance of Buzz in a different folder and see if this also has the problem. Looks like maybe so...

Re: Surround and/or multi-channel music

Good input Tiadiad, there are certainly lots of issues with all this. At least I got the tech issues sorted out already. So I'm tempted to doing yet another surround test song, probably chill-out/ambient stuff. I guess the only people who will be able to play it conveniently will be anyone who has a...

Re: Surround and/or multi-channel music

Little follow-up, and I'll start with my main question: Does anyone in here have a surround setup? Even just a cheap logitech setup or such? Anything? I also wonder if surround music (apart from movie soundtracks) is a thing of the past? Whatever... I like chasing rainbows. So... years have passed s...

Re: Some free excellent microtonal synths

Now that we're listing them: The normal matilde tracker has a command called "harmonic play" (17) which lets you multiply the base frequency of the note being played by an integer number, giving you a super easy way to play just intonation. There's a special version of matilde tracker that...
