the other day i decided to see if i could use jeskola auxsend/auxreturn so that i could better arrange my machine view. i thought i understood the concept and implementation, but i couldnt figure it out. i was all over buzzmachines and the web looking for a helpfile for the machines and couldnt find anything. couldnt find any relevant examples even of ld aux machines.

can someone tell me how to use jeskola auxsend/return?

thanks

I'm not sure but jeskola aux send/return don't work since a long time, you must use ld aux, but now with the multi in out, wireless, IX patchbay, new Antonio's mixIO, i don't use the aux system, a little bit tricky for me :|
Anyway ld_aux is always usefull for vocoders or ld_mixer.

yeah, i suppose with the advent of wireless machines theres not much point in the aux stuff anymore. thanks

wireless machines can't make up for the fact that feedback connections are only possible with aux

yes, and also very cool with UDelay3.

carefull with feedback tough, its easy to have it "explode" and cause horrible noise bursts

Yeah definitely, make sure you stick in a limiter to the chain straight away !

Try adding a pitchshifter in there aswell. You can create some WILD organic soundscapes with it (from just using a few cents up/down, to several semitones up/down).

Again, a limiter is very much needed.

Which machines are working?
If I use Jeskola AuxSend, it shows up as a Control machine, and generators connected to it lights up and appears to be playing.
But none of the AuxReturn machines in my list are working... Is there a new version somewhere?

I've looked on Buzzmachines.com, but they're all from pre 2004.

Can't find ld Auxreturn anywhere..
Does anyone know where I can download it?

Thank you MT! :)

If anyone else are looking for working Aux Send/Return machines to do wacky feedback, get the machines above.

I couldn't get this working with LD machines either.
This AUX bus thingie is something that i need to study every time i try them -still next time i try they don't work, and i need to seek same information again... Same with ASIO inputs and vocoders.

It would be nice if there would be up to date tutorial for this techniques somewhere... wiki or this forum.

I had some AUX send / return templates i did years ago and saved so that i can use those as starting point, but they were "old buzz" files from around 2007 and don't work anymore. Jeskola send and aux repeater.
I just tried to edit those templates by replacing AUX machines with LD's versions, without success. Sound just does not go trough them. Both send and return plugins had same busses chosen.

I made these templates (works with the machines MT linked to above), they are just Auxsend and returns on channels 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8.

Yeah I kept forgetting how to use it so made this picture to remind myself -

(Freebase is just a renamed bass synth generator)

As for using aux machines for vocoders I believe the latest Ld Vocoder (LD vocoder XP ?) doesn't need it as it supports multiple inputs, when you connect the machine it asks whether you want the input to be the carrier or modulator. Much easier !

Thanks Pete, i got vocoder working!

And ASIO (audio) input as well.. another thing that i get working just occasionally. I should make music more often so that this things would become common routine. :)
