Controlling Transport and Machine Mute with MIDI Controller?

Post by double07 »

Just got myself an M-Audio Oxygen 49 midi keyboard/controller and it works well with buzz. Just wondering if it's possible to do the following:

1. Control Start/Stop/Record (even skip forward back etc). via midi controller?
2. Mute/Unmute machine via midi controller?

If not this would be pretty handy.

You need IX Transport (play, pause, stop) and there is an old muting machine that there was some talk of needing replacement... might be quick with the new managed machines, I'll have a look.

As Transport isn't on buzzmachines, see attached file. Look at the attributes for which CC's you want. Its an alpha but I havent had any problems using it.

btw, I'm open to feature requests for Transport. I've got a half formed idea of adding some kind of markers system or something but that's all.

Thanks for that guys... couple of issues, how do I bind it to on/off style buttons seeing as the functions are all on the one parameter? And how do I stop it recording midi input into it's transport pattern? :D

I'd be happy with just being able to bind buttons to forward and back a defined amount of beats to be honest.

If you're using it via a controller then get just rid of the sequence track.

Did you tried Live jumpHack ?

maybe a control of the loop start/end and on/off will be useful?

Sorry I don't follow, I can see in the attributes you can set a midi cc for play/stop/record but how do you then map that to a button?

Do your buttons not send CC values?
