Hi more workflow questions /
Also can I capture/record the MIDI outputted from vst step sequencer inside Buzz / or outside buzz into reaper (just would need here info getting Buzz into loopbe) ?
[ Jumping topic from midi to audio]I know I could use ReaRoute to capture audio into reaper, what about capturing audio from Buzz into Buzz ?

Ok found tool to capture MIDI = Midi Looper http://www.thepiz.org/plugins/?p=midiLooper
Not sure how to send Buzz track Midi to Midi Looper or from vst step sequencer to Midi Looper.
Thanks in advance.

Once upon a time in a distant land, there was a MIDI routing app called MidiOx. I don't know if it is still being updated or will work with a modern day computer, but it's the only thing I can think of right now, which might do the necessary MIDI routing.

do you mean recording a machine's output and using it as a sample? in that case, try http://www.buzzmachines.com/machineinfo.php?id=1063 or http://www.buzzmachines.com/machineinfo.php?id=770abovethoughts wrote:[ Jumping topic from midi to audio]I know I could use ReaRoute to capture audio into reaper, what about capturing audio from Buzz into Buzz ?

Yes/ Audio capture output of machines/thanks will try what recommended
Still looking for an answer to Do machines output midi and can I insert a vst midi recorder to capture midi within Buzz ?
Dealing with Midi bursting out of Buzz MidiOx should allow me to capture midi if there is a midi out machine from Buzz?

Ah ok, buzz machines dont output midi normally. You can use polac midi out to send midi messages to other programs/hardware, have a look here for the manual, and shroom has kindly uploaded a video here. To record midi input you can use polac midi in i think.abovethoughts wrote:Yes/ Audio capture output of machines/thanks will try what recommended

That link to xlutop's website here seems to indicate that recording to Insert Piz Here's MIDI Looper should work just fine, Kudos for the help. Will report back after testing to let you know results.

Midi OX still works great . also using polac midi out (and selecting your interface ) also works great .. ive been having a blast lately syncing up my old Es-1 to buzz .
Re: Workflow questions for BlueArp, Kirnu, etc ...
uncheck your midi out devices in buzz preferences
close buzz/restart
add bluearp
rightclick bluearp, select midi send
select the output device (e.g. loopbe out 1)
put notes/chord in pattern editor for blue arp
press play
oh... also, for MIDI VSTs make sure that "Autostop process on Silence" is turned off. Right click the vst->preferences->last tab
I use loopbe for internal midi, but I mostly use midi out with external h/w
to return the midi to Buzz if its not your primary MIDI In device in buzz, add Polac's MIDI In machine, connect the vst to it and (right click->midi device) set it's input to the device (e.g. loopbe in 1)
--------------------
if you just want to send Midi from a Midi VST to another VST/plugin.. then use the MIDI Send dialog and don't bother sending it out to a device. If the target VST supports internal VST MIDI Send/Rcv from the host (not all do), then it will be listed there.

Re: Workflow questions for BlueArp, Kirnu, etc ...
+++ for normal MIDI Out, where you just control some CC's and sequence notes, program changes, etc. and nothing special like a custom vst midi sequencer - Don't use a MIDI Out vst, use Polac's MIDI Out Plugin - it f'ing owns (also has a built in arpeggiator). The only proper way to use this plugin is through the index menu or by typing the name of your MIDI Device on the machine view.

Thanks mute for the template, didn't notice the "Autostop process on Silence" and will check into that now. Funny, found instructions for setting up SonicBytes Era in Buzz on page 12
