I started using buzz because I was used to trackers before and I was looking for something that was free.

Now I'm hooked on it because of it's:

- Modularity. Hooking up machines like that makes it so easy to get create custom sound chains. This is the thing I miss the first when I try something else.
- Tracker interface. It's easy, it's fast and you don't have to click so damn much.
- Peer control. Awesome idea. Makes it a piece of cake to automate variation without having to tediously edit everything to bits.
- Lot's of cool, original machines you don't find anywhere else.
- The community. Yep. You guys. :)

I just wish it was more stable sometimes and less "messy". After a while you get a lot of machines and some combo's work and some don't.
But since it's free and my geek level is high I still think it's one of the best DAW's out there for me.

Because it is like a blank canvas and a set of colours.

Just want to play with it a bit, it seems Buzz is best tracker out there, from what I could see. The Sequence Editor looks very powerful and how it should be. Perfect design.

Hello all,

I recently installed the latest buzz version after some time apart. My earliest bmx files are from 2000 and I've been on and off ever since. The past couple of years I've done more rockband type music creating, so I didn't use buzz that much.

Now I've started making more electronic music again, and with a fresh install of buzz It has blown my mind once again.

I now have a bunch of hardware/analog synths which I've tried sequencing with Octatrack (too hard to make long, evolving melodies) and Cubase (The interface and note inputting doesn't suit me). But after a couple of hours with Buzz, Polac Vsti loaders as midi sequencers, MixIO and other "new" improvements I was so very happy. :) Once I figured out a couple of things everything worked just like I wanted. I can input long rows of notes to that wonderful tracker/sequencer view with my midi keyboard. Things feel fast and snappy, I can load my UAD plugins. Everything just seems to work so smoothly.

This now seems kind of amazing to me that the worlds greatest/fastest midi sequenecer/Audio mixer/sound creation tool, is the same program I fell in love with 17 years ago.

Thank you to all contributors, especially Oskari and Polac! Magical stuff!

Mama, I'm home again!

It was the closest thing to octamed on the pc. Which was my fav on the amiga. Tried to use Cubase and was totally defeated because my computer was to crappy to run it. Buzz run just fine on a celeron 400mhz with 512mb. Which was a big step up from the amigas 25mhz and 10 mb

Was that an Amiga 4000?
I used octamed too on my Amiga 1200. On pc i first used Fasttracker2 before switching to buzz.

I migrated from Impulse Tracker to ModPlug to Buzz, continually looking for a better tracker that could also handle live input. Polac's machines make it not only possible, but amazingly simple. It seems there is nothing you can't do with Buzz - you're only limited by your imagination. The previous comparisons to blank canvas with many available colours is a good one. Just dropping machines into a project & playing around with their parameters engenders so many possibilities. Not to mention the amazing power that is added by Peer-Machines. Again, anything is possible - and that is the greatest resource for anyone attempting to create. Unlimited possibility.

Thanks to Oskari, Polac, Cyanphase, BTDSys, IXix, Snowglobe & all the other amazing Devs & users who have made & continue to make this amazing program the limitless creativity machine that it is!

See You In The Shadows…

It is 22 years old now still going had 3 power supplies use an A500 one now more juice thats from 85 still working. Not as a song mode sequencer.
