I know there is a thread with "your top 5 list" but...

...if you can't choose machines from the buzzmachines toplist then what's your special treasure?

I don't think I could pick just one! I'll have to think about it for a month or two...

Hummm...sorry.

Ok.
3 effects and 3 generators

G: Orange kid, Kibibu Doof 1.5
E: Ninja delay, panzerdelay, 11-rhythm gate

Well, not really unknown forgotten machines but I am an amateur.

I've spent over $200 on reverb VSTs over the last few years and raverb is still my favourite sounding reverb I've ever used.

Philthy didn't make the top 25? Ok, that's my pick.

that top25 download list got reset a few years ago, just as i started releasing machines... made for a lot of fun watching my effects become the most downloaded :) anyway, dont take it too seriously because of that.

as for gems

gens:
rymix kyriespecter, it can get stuck with some parameter combinations, but if you are patient it has huge capabilities.
majkol freebase, my favourite machine to use with the preset morphing/randomization
ldod matk (not sure if this ever got finished, i have b6) add some shortish reverb on the bottom end and you can get kodo-esque sounds

effects:
intoxicat dubdelay (you can make it do lovely crunches by reducing the delay length in the pattern and having the slide value low)
BIGYO parameq ;)
fsm wahman (pro)

Killer machine! Shame majkol never succumbed to my constant pestering for virtual channels. That would have made it perfect.

I don't think I could live without Fuzzpilz Chorpse.

Other regular favourites include Whitenoise's Disassembler, Intoxicat ACloud, Intoxicat GenRe, 2nd Process Numbird and Kibibu's Il Lupo Stanco + Dog's Best Friend.

There are SO MANY awesome Buzz machines!

Get the sounds you want, clone freebase 7 times, solo the track you want for each machine in pxp, connect all of them to a mixio, one channel each, then select what ever outputs you want from that. (or skip the mixio step)

I've also used a template for the above, and saved/loaded the preset across all the template.

Not perfect, but it gets you multichannel..

I bow to your geekness :ugeek:

To stay on topic... Fuzzpilz Unwieldy Pitch (or Unpieldy Witch)

 Xlutop's "alternate" Wavetable useable in Matilde2 rc 1.98 if loaded in PVST(I)_Loader also coded by Xlutop, open it in Machineview and right click on the surface, select Wavetable ... there you go ...

Bigyo's ParamEQ, absolutely reliable, smooth, good sounding, with a fine Q ... glorious and low on cpu ... I love it, even if other people criticise it, feel free to code a better one :D :ugeek:

Not that any of these is particularly secret (mostly just old, I guess), but...

Effects:
--Geonik's Expression 2 (Fun auto-wah/ECF thingy. It tends to break pretty regularly, but I've yet to find a good replacement.)

--Whitenoise's Recorder (Records to the wavetable, but doesn't automatically clear the existing sample like other recorders do, so you can use it for feedback loops with any sample player/effect chain you want. You usually need to turn off Buzz's "Accurate BPM" setting to do this without crashing, though.)

--Whitenoise's Harmonic Delay (Note-based waveguide. Would be perfect if it had a filter in the feedback stage.)

Generators:
--Geonik's PrimiFun (Surprisingly versatile, for a pulse generator with one envelope.)

--Ynzn's Click'n'Pop (Maybe my favorite noise generator. Heh, I guess this one is just a pulse generator too, when it comes down to it, but with period, amplitude, and pulsewidth varying randomly each cycle.)

--BTDSys Stutter (looplooploopwooowoolooploolooploopwoooooop)

M4w. Can be a bit wonky at times but treat it good and it makes some very odd sounds :)

This post will be surprisingly boring, but really, by far the most funky magic tricks I do - the kind of stuff you just can't do in a normal DAW - is the stuff I do in matilde tracker and polac's vst wrapper.

Stuff like automating/sequencing sample offset, doing weighted probability patterns as well as insane automations of various VST plugins is the stuff that makes Buzz unique to me.

So to me, it's not the weird machines that are "secret gems", but rather certain commands and approaches in mtrk and pvst.
