multiple instances of BTDsys Peerctrl: good or bad

Post by onecircles »

I am thinking of splitting my midi assignments between 4 or more instances of peer ctrl that will be given different midi channels. My initial experiments seem to indicate that this will work, but I wanted to check if anyone knows if this is one of those machines that you should only have one instance of. I think I recall maybe zhazhareen saying this was the case when he was first showing me peerctrl, but I could be wrong.

Any input much appreciated, thx.

I don't think there should be any problem with multiple instances. If there is, let me know and I'll see if I can fix it.

I worship you.

JK, thanks.
I am going to do this. I'll tell you if I hit any snags.

Btw, for me, peerctrl reliably crashes at around 230 tracks.

re-did 200 midi assigns. So far so good. I worried that the 4 instances of peerctrl might put me over the top on CPU. With everything making sound I'm within a few percent of having dropouts.

That happened to me when I put in a bunch of instances of peerstate, but I am not having this issue with peerctrl.

 Serves you right for being so greedy! I'll investigate that when I get a moment.
