Peer chord on Buzz 64 edition

Post by Grids »

Hi,

I can't get Peer Chord to work on Buzz 64 edition from October last year. Any thoughts?
When I click on assign parameter, nothing opens up.

Most likely you need to register "envelope.ocx". The old buzz fixkit used to let you do it but I'm not sure whether that still works.

Marc had to do the same thing recently and he did it from the command prompt...

"I had to run, as administrator, the command line regsvr32.exe envelope.ocx (with the current directory was set to where my buzz is installed, and where envelope.ocx is located)"

Oh hang on, sorry I'm half asleep. I read it as PeerCtrl

PeerChord? Hmm, not sure why that wouldn't work. I'll look into it...

Yeah, I have the same problem here. I can't spend time trying to solve it right now though as I'm on holiday and my wife won't be impressed if I spend all my time with my nose in my laptop.

I'll try to look at it when I get home in a couple of weeks.

Okay, here's an updated build of PeerChord for testing... BTDSys PeerChord 1.1a - 2023.08.12.zip

No new features, just a newer build and a x64 version. Please check that it loads songs properly as I had to make some internal changes. It should work but I haven't tested it.

No, it's not online yet. SourceForge killed off the CVS system ages ago and I haven't gone through the process of switching to something else. I'm planning on moving the code to GitHub but I need to figure out the best way to structure the repositories. I don't know git very well so I need to do a bit of reading and experimenting first.

I was using your x86 release of the Peerchord from here in a couple of tunes and now when I try and load them on another machine I get an 'Incompatible Data' error when I load them. However if I switch that machine to the same dll I seem to still get the error. My fault as I was tinkering with a newer release for sh'ts-n-giggles, when I didn't need to really to but I'm wondering if there's an obvious reason for this issue. The standard version I used for years is the last one from BTDsys Sourceforge, 2011.

It looks like I've screwed up the save/load code. It's amazing how much chaos can be caused by just one missing byte.

I need to do some tests with different versions to make sure I don't break it more by fixing it but I'll get on it tomorrow.

Okay, I've fixed the problem. Unfortunately files saved with the buggy version still won't load properly. I'm looking into how to rescue such files, so if you have one let me know and I'll try to fix it for you.

Thank you IXix.
PeerChord saved in 32bit Buzz load in x64 Buzz good here..When saved in x64 and open in 32bit ,I loose Assign parameter settings ,have to set up again.
EDIT:After installation ver. 1.1b ,works perfectly in both platform together 8-)

Your screenshot shows PeerChord 1.1a so you probably haven't installed the new version on both platforms, unless I messed up the about box, which isn't completely impossible

edit: Nope, about text is correct on both platforms
