So, I know these older machines have to have multithreading disabled, and I've done that, but these two, as well as cheapo do nothing and some others are really broken on my machine. I loved both these machines and some of my best stuff from when I first started uses them. If anyonn could point me in any direction to fix this I'd really appreciate it. Some of these tracks have been broken on me for years.

Are we allowed to have multiple versions of buzz installed? I haven't tried installing the build of buzz I was using back then yet.

Doof works fine here but Farbrausch has never been very cooperative. Do you get error messages from Doof or does it just crash?

I get the missing dll error and then a full crash of buzz.

I have an "Old Buzz" version complete with Overloader installed alongside my "New Buzz" Build 1503 install on my desktop that still runs Windows XP. I use "Old Buzz w/ Overloader" for a lot of my alternate tuning stuff since you could easily change the global tuning of Old Buzz using Overloader (a feature I would LOVE to have in build 1503). There's nothing like writing songs where your base frequency does not equal A4=440 hz.

Hope this helps you, onecircles.

Have you tried running Dependency Walker on doof?

Thanks for the suggestion IXIXIXIX, I had forgotten about dependency walker. I do indeed get many errors.

"error opening file. the system cannot find the file specified"

DSPLIB.DLL
MSVCR70.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-ERROR-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-ROBUFFER-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-WINRT-STRING-L1-1-0.DLL
DCOMP.DLL
IESHIMS.DLL

And then I have normal entries with link checksum and real checksum and attribute values for:

API-MS-WIN-CORE-CONSOLE-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-DATETIME-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-DEBUG-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-ERRORHANDLING-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-FIBERS-L1-1-0.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-FILE-L1-1-0.DLL

Wait... this list goes on forever. I assume these are dependencies that are satisfied. I am not yet familiar with dependency walker, so apologies for my ignorance.

Here is the .dwi if you're interested.

Now excuse me, I have some googloogling to do.

I suspect these two may be the only ones that matter. I'm pretty sure "DSPLIB.DLL" is (I think) part of a normal Buzz installation as it's in my Buzz root folder. MSVCR70.DLL is from a microsoft redist package.

Yes, I have DSPLIB.DLL in my buzz folder. I wonder why it's showing as missing?

Doof doesn't do anything fancy - it certainly doesn't use WinRT.

If you have MSVCR70.DLL that should be all you need!

You haven't put Doof in the effects folder?
