6 machines you use the most
Re: 6 machines you use the most
I agree elekt. The modularity of buzz also makes it a highly effective platform for doing complex filtering and automation. Also DnB n' Shit.

@4516N41: raverb - wow how did i not use this before?! it's like an instant awesome-fier. philta - super wah! such formant with the 2L fmish setting, this is insane.
@mcg: could you upload or link to WhiteNoise's Noiz? it's not on buzzmachines. i couldn't find JRMRINGO either. is szurum-burum a traditional song? i was only able to find a few videos of an artist called kuruzela when i searched for it, sounds pretty cool and i'm wondering if it's an original by them or more of a folk song kind of thing.
@syphilissauna thx for recommending speccy, i'd never heard of this. very nice.
@sleepzzz: thanks to you i discovered that sgorpi clap is awesome.
@joachim: venus looks awesome! i've recently been experimenting withpan and width controls in mixio, so this will definitely expand my horizons.

Since so many people here list Blok as 1 of their favs: there is a 2015 version of Blok available now.. http://blog.thisisnotrocketscience.nl/p ... k-modular/

Cool, sampler, EQ , and new envelope, is there also an update for the vst?Zephod wrote:there is a 2015 version of Blok available now
Re: 6 machines you use the most
Oh there are many more new features in there than just those...
The VST needs some more debugging - there will be a release of that thing as soon as I got it back stable with the latest set of features. Some fileformat changes broke the internal patchbanks resulting in crashes during switch - need to fix that before I can release it.

Re: 6 machines you use the most
Just about CPU usage on newer laptops:
Cpu energy saving scheme limits the minimum & maximum power status when switched to power or batteries.
Just sEt the correct scheme before complaining that your machine is the slowest of the neighborhood.
Or simply create a new scheme and call it DAWS where everything related to performance stays at 100%.
My setup is almost always VST plugins, but just because if i need to dump the work to a higher level of production, i use the EXPORT AS MIDI to put the tunes in Studio One and go on with the recordings...
Polac VST
Firesledge EQ (sounds smoother than most VST)
FSM Infector
Ninja Delay (only when i need multiple TAPS, 4, 5, 8...)
LD Halverb (is it right?)
LD Phatgrade
Zephod MX
And some other i can.t remember. There.s a long time i.ve been using it only for FX or Loops creation...

Generators
PVSTi
Unwieldytracker2
FSM Kick XP (tuned kicks are very useful)
ld snare
Ers drum series (ok that's several)
Qsamo
Bonus mention of Oomek 303 (though using less due to sample rate problem)
Effects
bg compressor
Fuzzpillz Oppressor 3 - used for sidechaining
Firesledge paramEq
Firesledge pampurfe
Fuzzpilz Unwieldydelay2
PVST
I tend to use freeware VSTis quite a bit - Tone2 Firebird and TyrellN6 cover quite a lot of bases.
Also Blok modular - I only discovered this today on looking through all the generators to find something interesting, and it definitely looks it.
