Note Detector

Post by wde »

Hi,

Simple note detector effect. Might be usefull when recording live instrument or vocals.
  • Send MIDI notes to selected machines
  • Adjust note detection level threshold
  • Randomize MIDI note parameter
  • Note release threshold
  • Adjust MIDI send semitone

Interesting. Could it output the detected note as a peer signal to other machines? That could be fun...

Everything goes very fast, I wanted to ask for midi send, but IX was faster, so I try with my electric guitar and polac in, cool, I have a mono midi guitar for free, (lovely Buzz) but I notice some annoying bug with notes, proudly I come here to report, but to late, bug fixed and bonus a new param, so, thanks for this cool machine, and for your reactivity!

Hmm, I've been wondering about combining pitch detection and vocoding for a while now...

Some cleanups and source code. Seems to be fairly stable for first release.

Love the machine, just can't get the MIDI Send to work. Started a topic to help trouble shoot this in the main Users forum

New version. Fixed some weirdness in functionality after note detection level threshold is changed.

this is super fucking awesome. been using shitty vsts for this. native support and better features than I've seen in any vst that does similar. the midi send is awesome. would be even more wicked to see a straight peer alternative.

btw (to everyone listening that knows shit); are all the updated peer documents and examples still easily accessible online like they once were? i think most of them were forum based. http://btdsys.lazytrap.com/ (old official btdsys site i host for btdsys)..but I wanna say people updated and improve the code from sourceforge or whateve

Can't seem to get multiple instances of Note Detector to work. I'm trying to control three different machines with Note Detector & using three instances of ND. I'm switching between each using IX's amazing PatchBay (configured 1 In & 3 Out), but I can only get the first instance of ND to work.

Possible suggestion for a solution (not sure if it's possible): making the peer control machine selectable in a Global or Track parameter so that you can switch ND peer connection on the fly? Again, not sure if this is possible given the code architecture for PeerLib (& I'm not a coder). Something tells me it isn't, but it's a thought. Otherwise, is there a way to have multiple instances of ND work?

Thanks in advance!

If you're trying to switch one audio note source between three machines, you could do a workaround using IX Split. Define three layers in Split each with a different velocity range and assign each layer to a different machine, leaving the Velocity Parameter unselected. You could then assign the Note Detector to Split and use the send velocity to switch the routing.
