should i take btdsys.lazytrap.com down?
should i take btdsys.lazytrap.com down?
Should i take btdsys.lazytrap.com down? I host it. It's his last official site. But the peerlib has been updated since then and future proofed by other people.
I think maybe I should take it down because it contains old versions at this point.
I only want to drop it if I know the updated downloads and existing documentation is in order and updated at some other site.
If it isn't.. can we get this organized somewhere?
Joachim?
http://btdsys.lazytrap.com/buzz-machines
If I do take it down.. what should I preserve so it can be put elsewhere?
http://buzzwiki.robotplanet.dk/index.ph ... ontrollers (nothing there yet)
I'll host the site myself at the same url if need be - but someone else needs to manage it. I'll give a url and ftp access (or wordpress/joomla/whatever) if that's the case.
or other suggestions..

Re: should i take btdsys.lazytrap.com down?
btw... this seems like a community project long due. a page somewhere to get Peer in order for 2017.
I think it was IXix that was the saint that updated peerlib or just older machines, etc.. as he worked on his own peer projects?
Let's gather what we know & opinions here..

Re: should i take btdsys.lazytrap.com down?
The sourceforge page has all the latest versions of the machines (and I think all of the old stuff too). I have the keys to the repo but I've been short of time so I haven't pushed it on much. There are a few machines I haven't touched at all.
I don't know whether you should take down lazytrap but if it stays it would be nice if it could link to the SF page for downloads.

Re: should i take btdsys.lazytrap.com down?
I have no knowledge of the btd stuff or who's involved in continuing it. I just use the PeerLFO at rare occations, but that's about it, so it's tricky for me to tell what should be kept, and what may exist in a later version somewhere else.
I do however think that the most recent versions of the compiled machines should be placed here: http://buzz.robotplanet.dk/
As for source codes, it's okay to include them in the files uploaded to this site. (Many of the old buzz machines also came with the source included.) But obviously, using the sourceforge mentioned above seems like a far better approach.

Re: should i take btdsys.lazytrap.com down?
IX, if i gave you access to admin the btdsys url (after i update versions n shit), would you be up for updating things or at least making a single post to direct people in the right directions for the various shit? If not, that's cool. I understand time can be a pinta. I don't want to do anything always forever. Life gets in the way, got little time for anything else. but, if you're up for it.. lemme know and I'll fire you some pm's.
Re: should i take btdsys.lazytrap.com down?
Yeah sure. You're right, this stuff needs organising and it's long overdue.mute wrote:IX, if i gave you access to admin the btdsys url (after i update versions n shit), would you be up for updating things

Have you ever had the experience where you find something that's clearly your own work but you don't remember doing it?

Re: should i take btdsys.lazytrap.com down?
Just dropping in to say thanks IX for maintaining this stuff and thanks mute for continuing to host it.
I haven't touched Buzz for many years, or really anything audio/music related for that matter. But it's good to know that my machines live on and are in safe hands.

Can't resist lurking in the forums though, eh? Hello stranger! I hope life's being nice to you. Not sure that I have safe hands but I do have hands and they don't look too dangerous.btd wrote:I haven't touched Buzz for many years, or really anything audio/music related for that matter.
