Try turning off background images in Settings->Sequence Editor (maybe pattern editor too if that doesn't fix it).

The awesome Simplon III theme stopped working in the new builds, and the new 3.2 version shows the same:
'Failed to create a 'Command' from the text 'I:ToolbarVM.NewFileCommand'.
(And then another screen with errors.)

What am I missing?

however, since 1456+ only the standard theme works correctly with the wavetableeditor.
unable to zoom in/out there with other themes.
anyone else experiencing this?

Yeah, updating themes so they're compatible with the new builds is becoming an almost daily activity now :lol: (took me ages to work out how to get mine to work for versions post 1454 - I'm a little slow ...)

there is this lag when using the quicknewmachinewindow of the new dark theme.
compared to the default theme it is really slow.

or is it just me?

Thanks for the hint.
It helped – a little :|
After disabling background image in sequencer and pattern view and a restart of buzz (otherwise it has no effect) it seems to lower cpu consumption about 4 % as an average, but going from 38 to 50 % by even not moving the mouse.
So it seems that the "special" graphics have an impact.

I went through the whole settings menu trying "true" and "false" for every item. Didn't change anything. So what else could I do? :?

And this seems to be a good opportunity to thank the buzz forums team to enable questions like this, thanks :)

Feeling a little desperate about the extraordinary cpu consumpion – but this works for me exactly like default theme :)

in the debug log when buzz starts, what does this line say ?

00:00 [GUI] RenderCapability::Tier == 2

what's your tier ?

level 2 should give hardware accelleration without any problems.
so maybe you are running on wpf software rendering?

I tried both possibilities "true" and "false" (with restating, if that makes any difference), but on both the same terrifying cpu consumption.
Is there a recommended state?

Software rendering should be off, and it really suggests that there is a problem with your video card/driver/settings if there is no change when turning it on/off. Look in windows and your video settings for hardware acceleration, there is often a slider saying how acceleration much you want for windows/wpf. If this is set to none, if would explain why buzz is going so slow. (in general you want the max hardware acceleration anyway)

Build 1458

When I choose the iLKke pixelplast (new) theme (my favorite, unfortunately :| ), I get the message :

'Failed to create a 'Command' from the text 'I:ToolbarVM.NewFileCommand'. Line number '102' and line position '29'. The theme comes but by reopening I get the same error message and the toolbar is missing.

pixelplast is not yet configured for the new wpf toolbar.

you can use notepad++ and its compare feature to compare the toolbar.xaml of both themes (machines (extended) and pixelplast).

reset the theme in the registry:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Jeskola\Buzz\Settings]
"Theme"="default"
