Re: Buzz on Linux

I've tried the instructions in Kubuntu 23.04 It installs and runs, but doesn't display - just shows a screenshot of the desktop at the time it ran. I can still right click, add machine but that's it! Edit - interestingly I can also get the x64 Buzz 2022 edition to install and run but same behaviour ...

Re: Buzz on Linux

I used Linux as my main os for years - until new Buzz and the touchscreen support in Windows 8.

I quite like Windows 10, but we'll see what 11 is like - I'd be tempted to go back if Buzz worked well in Wine!

Re: Modern Sequence Editor

Sadly it crashes 32bit Buzz a few seconds after switching to the sequence editor and Buzz disappears with no message. When I try in Buzz 64, it tries to show some sort of window briefly then disappears. Tried with both the default theme and the Ilke Machines, same results. Same behaviour here - it ...

Re: Buzz on Linux in 2020

I've had a try using wine, and also a trial of Codeweavers crossover. I installed dotnet40 into a 64 bit Windows 10 bottle, then Buzz. Similar in both - I can get Buzz to run but it's very slow and visually glitchy. I can add a machine, but as soon as I try and add a pattern it crashes. Certainly th...

Thanks! I'd read about this being under development a few months ago.

Re: Surge

While we're talking about open source synths, I'd recommend trying Odin 2

https://www.thewavewarden.com/odin2

It's not as deep as Surge, but still loads of possibilities.

Re: new pvst beta (updated 2-Jul-2020)

I think I've found a bug when loading VST3 plugins. It's the same on both OB-Xd and Odin2. When clicking on something that will give a pop up menu (eg "Voices" on Ob-Xd, or selecting oscillator or filter type on Odin2), the menu will briefly pop up then disappear, making it impossible to s...

Re: Modern Sequence Editor

Nice work! I didn't realise stuff like this could be done within Buzz. I need a second screen now..

If the sequence editor was adaptable like this, then the Jeskola Live machine is ripe for modification/increased functionality (hint :) )

Re: What's your favourite filters and why?

Well I've always used FSM Philthy but I just checked out Tethys and it sounds great - couple of peer LFOs on the LP and HP cutoff and the analog control turned up :)

Korg NTS-1

I know it's hardware but I picked up one of these recently https://www.korg.com/uk/products/dj/nts_1/ It's a tiny, self-assembly monophonic synth with built-in effects. You can load custom oscillators and effects onto it via USB. It sounds really good, and it's great in combination with Buzz - contr...

Re: Track Volume curve (sub tick vol interpolation)

I'm on 1503 and I've never seen this horizontal sequencer before.
Is there something I'm missing?

Can I ask how you get the little horizontal sequence view above the pattern editor?

I tend to start off with everything going to Master if playing around. Once it gets a bit further I use mixIO.

I tend to use Ambience by Smart Electronix (VST)
I've used it for ages, doesn't use up too much CPU, has lots of configurability. It's free.
