Re: How to donate

There's a thread where Oskari will sometimes ask for donations to keep the forum running here:

viewtopic.php?t=1979

I believe you can just send him money using his email address on Paypal.

Re: Modular synthesis versus Buzz

For anyone interested, there is a free tracker module now for VCV Rack:

https://library.vcvrack.com/Biset

There are a few things that I think could be improved, but it's already quite useful. The developer is actively working on it and responsive to bug reports on Github, which is always good.

Re: Modern Pattern Editor

I think I've found a bug when selecting a wave from the wavetable using the menu in MPE. I usually just use the keyboard commands to change the wave rather than the mouse: Hit Alt-W to open the wavetable selector; use the arrow keys to pick the desired sample; hit enter. However, when I do this in M...

Re: Modern Pattern Editor

Now you can switch from Pattern XP to MPE and have your data transferred correctly. My eyes got wide for a second there, until I realized that of course 'MPE' would mean Modern Pattern Editor, not MIDI Polyphonic Expression . In any case, it'll be fun to try this one out. Thanks for all the w...

Re: A working XY Pad/ morphing between 4 sources

It could be that envelope.ocx needs to be registered, since some of the older machines (including PeerCtrl) use it for their graphics. I think there was a way to do it via the Buzz Fixkit, but not sure if that still works. You can definitely open an elevated command prompt (run as Administrator) and...

Re: A working XY Pad/ morphing between 4 sources

PeerCtrl has an XY window (in the right-click menu, I think?) that lets you use the left, right and middle mouse buttons to control three separate pairs of XY parameters.

Re: Cardinal

(I should mention that I've only played around with Cardinal briefly, and I'm basing most of these suggestions off of my experience with the plugin version of VCV Rack, which works slightly differently, though Cardinal is based on much of the same code. I'm kind of assuming that the analogous module...

Re: Can't start Buzz on Windows 11 anymore

Since it started after scanning for VSTs, maybe there's some clash between PVST and a particular plugin. If there are new plugins you've added since the last time Buzz worked normally, try moving the .dll or .vst3 files to a temporary directory outside the PVST scan path. If Buzz starts normally, yo...

Oh hey, look at that, Toneboosters legacy (v3) versions are now free too: https://www.toneboosters.com/support.html The TrackEssentials and BusTools (v3) plug-ins are enjoying their well-deserved retirement after being in service for over a decade and are now made available as freeware. Use the link...

Some really nice stuff in there! I'm enjoying playing around with Phosphor and Axon a lot.

Re: Control 2 Polac VSTs with one track?

I *think* you can just use the MIDI Send from the right click menu of the Polac Internal MIDI machine (or the machine with the same name as your MIDI controller, if you have one hooked up) and use that to target multiple VST machines.

Re: Flickering drop-down menus in PVST & 64-bit VST2 plugins

i have this flickering in many other win32 apps since the latest windows update, even in stuff like notepad's search dialog etc.. I think it's a windows issue.. something changed.. I saw Herr's video and I've actually been noticing it in Chrome even without Buzz running. I'm still on Windows 7, so ...

Re: Surge

Renaming a .vst3 to .dll will not work. VST3s do need to be in a specific location to work, however (C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 for 64 bit versions and C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST3 for 32 bit versions). Is the file in the proper VST3 folder, and is the folder in your PVST scan pa...

Re: Filter envwlop / amp envelope in sampler

Yes! They're in the Wavetable view. The envelope editor will show up when you select the Parameters tab (next to the wave editor tab). Matilde has separate envelopes for Volume, Panning and Pitch, and Unwieldy also has them for filter Cutoff and Resonance. You can find some details (a bit outdated) ...

Re: Juce plugins in bridged mode (pvst)

Well I updated PVST to b35 and Plasmonic started working , but then I exited Buzz and when I tried to start it again later, it crashed on load . After removing PVST and PVSTi dlls from the gear directory, Buzz started up fine (but of course without any VSTs), so I reverted PVST to b31 (...

Re: Juce plugins in bridged mode (pvst)

When running Juce plugins like Valhalla SuperMassive or Rhizomatic Plasmonic... Aside from the GUI stuff, did you have to do anything special to get Plasmonic to work? I've been trying the demo, and Plasmonic won't show up in the Buzz machine list even after a full rescan. It works fine in Bitwig a...

Re: SFZ 2.0

There is a free program for editing and converting between soundfont formats:

https://www.polyphone-soundfonts.com/

Depending on which features of the SFZ format are being used, some parts may not fully translate to SF2, but it's worth a try if you want to use the samples in XS-1.
