Re: How can you get multiple MIDI devices to work simultanio
Buzz only allows one midi device to communicate with it directly. To use multiple midi devices, you have a few options. (I use 3 midi devices) You can merge their input in software using midiox/midiyoke or other similar, newer, software. In this case you'll both have to control the same machine, but...

Re: Most streamlined gear folder
btw, joachip, is hyperion EQ safe? According to the buzz wiki it's been decided that nearly all equalizers cause problems. I really like hyperion EQ though. Additionally I am a big fan of uranus reverb, but I have suspected it of causing noise bursts in the past. Could you clarify the situation on t...

Re: Most streamlined gear folder
Full respect to you Unz, I know you're a developer. I use mixIO and I love it. I gladly regard you as a buzz wizard. Thank you for your work in the community. It's just that what you said didn't conform with what I had learned over the course of my time with buzz, but thank you for checking the dev ...

Best way to play external media files within buzz?
The ideal case would essentially be foobar2000 media player as a vst plugin. I'd like to be able to play flacs and wavs and mp3. Probably unlikely but what are my options? This seems like the sort of thing I could do using polac machines, but I don't know. Or, is there a good way I could route fooba...

Re: Most streamlined gear folder
Unz, your statement is incorrect. Many of them don't come back the next time you load. The ones I've listed can be removed and they won't load anymore. Also you're probably right that these machines machines specifically won't cause any problems, but it's not true that machines don't do anything unl...

Pattern XP mod can save and load patterns iirc, although I haven't experimented with that feature.

Is it possible to add custom wave shapes to qsamo?
I've always thought it was possible, based on the empty slots, but don't know how it's accomplished.
thx.
thx.

Re: Most streamlined gear folder
Only some of the machines which begin with Jeskola are built in, some others are bundled. The choice of which ones are bundled seems fairly arbitrary. Filter 1 and 2 are bundled, and filter 3 is hard coded for instance. It's NBD to be sure, but It's considered best practice to keep your machines at ...

Re: No more ASIO?
Wasapi is fairly low latency, but with asio and some other options, you can set your latency yourself and decide if you want lower latency and higher cpu usage or if your willing to accept higher latency to free up some cpu headroom. Any latency below 10ms is going to be totally fine for most people...

Most streamlined gear folder
I've returned to the question: what is the minimal amount of default equipment which is necessary to run buzz? But after some experimentation the question has become strange because it seems buzz will include certain machines regardless of whether they are present in gear. Jeskola filter 3 for insta...

Tried getting rid of some of these using gear.xml, but that didn't work either.

Re: Default machines: Good or Evil?
Even if you empty the contents of generators and effects, many machines remain in the machines view. If you pull one of these machines into the workspace and open it up, it's parameters load, whether or not it is present in generators/effects. I do wish I could really simplify my install, but I gues...

halyverb crash
I am having crashes whenever buzz encounters a machine which is absent from "gear", and in the case of hd halyverb it crashes whether it's present or not. (in a bmx which originally contained it)
Re: Hello
Hello again! I wasn't able to jump straight in as I had planned when I made this post because shortly after I had a bad accident and cut off the side of my thumb. It healed up really well though, and everything is fine :D Then after that a band asked me to do their album art for their vinyl press (I...
