Re: Buzz at 20
Hey all, been a while! Cool idea! Here's one of mine that I'd love to see included. I was originally writing this in ~2005 in Old Buzz. One day a plugin crapped out or something, and I never managed to get it to load again. Ah, Old Buzz. Fortunately a wav render of the second-last version survived, ...

Re: Chinese Sine Contest
I can't run Buzz at the moment as I no longer have a Windows machine. Since we're using trackers anyway can I enter this with Impulse Tracker?

MC-202 <-> tracker time conversion chart
Posting this up incase it's useful to anyone else: I made a chart that correlates note lengths as entered on the MC-202 sequencer with rows on a tracker. It was only supposed to be a rough guide for myself but during a bored long weekend I went into full doodle mode and this is what happened. http:/...

Re: I need some mixing advice
Thanks for the comments! I've been jumping back and forth between the original and this version on different setups, trying to get a handle on how it 'really' sounds. Now I can spot all kinds of little flaws in the source material that I didn't notice before too. I might change the main bass instrum...

Re: I need some mixing advice
Hey all! Once again, I'd love some comments on my mixing here. This is a little side project I've been working on to deal with some creative block: a full parametric EQ remix/remaster of an Impulse Tracker module I wrote around 10 years ago. I'm still suffering from lack of a proper monitoring setup...

Re: I need some mixing advice
Thanks for the tip, I'll give that a try... I assume I'll have to make the kick its own machine for that to work? No biggie.
I was going for a really silly, early-90s-on-steroids sort of feel with that song. I think it came through.

Batch sample conversion
I have quite a lot of samples of various drum machines. These are in a big, nested directory structure organized by machine, and are all in wav format. Some of them are recorded as 24 bit stereo for absolutely no valid reason. What I'd like to do is run some kind of script that goes through the enti...

I need some mixing advice
Hi guys! So in June I released this track ( bmx ) which overall I'm really happy with. However, I know it has mixing & mastering problems and going by some of the comments I've gotten, I'm not the only one who thinks so. Unfortunately I'm not really sure how to put the flaws I hear into words. I...

Oldschool rave tunes, post 'em here
Who else likes this doofy stuff? I just upped my best attempt (certainly not my last though!) at early~mid '90s breakbeat rave music here: Eddie at the Mental Institution BMX version It's supposed to sound cluttered and manic... There are some problems with the mixing (too many amped (>0 dB) machine...

Compressing a sample-heavy module
What format does Buzz use internally for samples? I have a large~ish module with a lot of samps that I want to upload to Buzztunes. All the samps are 16-bit, 44100 Hz mono WAV. I tried converting them to MP3 but the reduction in filesize (22 MB -> 15 MB) was not really proportional to the drastic (1...

Re: Switch PCs -> machine goes out of tune?
Here's a short example of the problem (BMX+recording.) All machine settings (including tuning obviously) are completely as default. Is it doing the same thing for anyone else?

Switch PCs -> machine goes out of tune?
Okay, here's a weird one... I was working on a song with Oomek's Aggressor 303 (oldschool!) when my primary music laptop (Win XP) developed a fault and I had to leave it with a repair shop. I borrowed a Win7 netbook and ported my Buzz installation over (installed Buzz itself new but copied all VSTs,...

Buzz under Wine
Is there a good way to get New Buzz going under WINE? It installed fine, but claims .NET 4.0 framework is missing & won't run. I installed that too (duh) but Buzz doesn't find it. I've found some tutorials e.g. on Buzzmachines but they seem only applicable to Old Buzz and very old versions of WI...

Re: Keyboard "jamming" doesn't work with Buzz machines?
Cool, got it to work both ways. Not quite as simple an approach as I'd hoped but close enough. (Now I can use my D-50 to input notes too!)
Never tried IX Split before... neat machine!
Thanks guys.

Keyboard "jamming" doesn't work with Buzz machines?
Hey all, this is a pretty basic question but I haven't found it answered here yet... When I'm in the machine view I can open a VSTi and play it with the (computer) keyboard no problem. Very useful for just experimenting or hashing out phrases before I commit them to patterns... But when I try it wit...

Re: Low-End Version of Buzz
I have 1406 running on (among other things) a 10-year-old laptop with Windows 2000. It works fine, you can get it to choke on songs with reeeeeeallly a lot of machines but normally it's no problem. There's no way I would go back to Old Buzz. The bright side of the missed years of development is that...

Yep, that fixed it! I thought I had those installed in the system already, guess not. Thanks a lot! Sorry, I know some of these questions have been done to death already. I've been trying to browse Buzzchurch via google cache pages but unfortunately it's not all there. I have to say I REALLY like th...

Re: 24-bit samples corrupt on playback?
some machines, I think mainly the older ones, don't like 24-bit samples very much. I guess that would be the problem, I'm using good old Jeskola Tracker... Matilde won't run for me for some reason, I get an error: "LoadLibrary("matilde tracker 2.dll") failed; the specified module cou...
