Re: new pvst beta (updated 11-Jul-2021)

Ohhhh, so the browser suddenly pops in front. I said in another thread that I hadn't experienced this problem (because i thought it was something PVST related), but after watching the video I'll take that back. What your video shows is a rather common problem in Windows, and I've seen it with many d...

Re: Flickering drop-down menus in PVST & 64-bit VST2 plugins

I have never experienced the focus stealing problem, which I believe is a completely separate issue.

This thread is only about the flickering (visible on the video in the first post).

Re: Flickering drop-down menus in PVST & 64-bit VST2 plugins

I just decided to compare an older build with the latest, so I picked build 34, and then tried DiscoDSP OB-XD 1.5 (VST2):

32-bit version doesn't flicker.
64-bit version flickers.

This happens with both PVST 34 and 37.
I cannot tell the difference between build 34 and 37 when it comes to this issue.

Re: Flickering drop-down menus in PVST & 64-bit VST2 plugins

That's odd. I just deleted my Buzz folder and did a clean install and then installed PVST build 37 there.

I still get the same flickering menus.

What am I missing?

Glad I was able to help. I'll be looking forward build 37.

Re: Flickering drop-down menus in PVST & 64-bit VST2 plugins

Thanks for looking into this. I wonder if this page may hold a clue to a good work-around. I have a feeling this is a problem specific to JUCE: https://github.com/juce-framework/JUCE/issues/401 FL Studio, while it can have embedded, bridged plugins, has a workaround; they don't set the WS_CHILD styl...

Re: Flickering drop-down menus in PVST & 64-bit VST2 plugins

That's exactly it. I recently spent 100 EUR on a vst that didn't work in Buzz or Samplitude - my two favorite DAWs at the moment - so that was sort of a bummer. But I think there's a fairly good chance I can have the developer recompile it, because he seems like a really nice guy who always responds...

Re: Flickering drop-down menus in PVST & 64-bit VST2 plugins

Yes can reproduce it here, I guess it can be fixed by disable "embedded gui" in the vst3shell settings. I know there are some problems with plugins done with the JUCE framework. Disabling "Embedded GUI" leaves me in a situation where I cannot close the VST UI once it's been opened. I don't know if ...

Flickering drop-down menus in PVST & 64-bit VST2 plugins

I still haven't found a solution to this problem, but I've just realized that it does not happen when using the same 64 bit plugin in 32 bit Samplitude. So perhaps this is actually a PVST specific problem? https://www.robotplanet.dk/f/buzzf/Valhalla_Space_Mod_PVST.mp4 It also happens in other 64-bit...

Re: new pvst beta (updated 27-Dec-2020)

Edith: Well, Polac "Sir", to my surprise I have been able to solve the missing version number update for my needs. So please, forget about my wish for an update of these numbers by you ... Mine still shows 34 even though I just installed build 35, making me wonder if the old dll is still lingering ...

Re: Automation at last - this changes everything!

Okay, maybe I'm dement, but I just installed Buzz on a new PC, and decided to give EnvelopeBlock a spin, and I ran into the problem with the missing right-click menu again: https://www.robotplanet.dk/f/buzzf/envblock_right_menu.png Left side of screenshot: Yours. | Right side of screenshot: Mine. Re: Surge

Yup, that's what I did first: Having the VST3 in that folder. And yes, I also have that folder added to polac's set of VST paths.

I just wanted confirmation whether a 64 bit VST3 plugin ending with ".vst3" has been known to work with polac or not.

Re: Plugins called .vst3

Just be absolute certain... are 64 bit VST3 plugins that have a file name ending with .vst3 supposed to work in 32 bit buzz using the wrapper? I'm trying to get it to work on my computer, but they don't show up. I tried making a copy of the .vst3 file called .dll which then shows up, but it won't lo...

Re: Juce plugins in bridged mode (pvst)

I did have trouble with that, and I forgot to write down what I did. Doh!!

But maybe all that was missing was to add "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3" to the VST directories list in the "Global 2" tab of pvst?

PS: The Pianoteq plugin also has trouble with the drop-downs when in bridged mode.

Re: new pvst beta (updated 27-Dec-2020)

I'm continuing my wrongly titled thread in here, as it seems relevant. The problem with loading a bmx and some VSTs not recalling their parameter states correctly seems to be well known across different DAWs. Here are some horribly crappy "solutions" which includes a race condition: https://forum.ju...

Re: EnvelopeBlock

I just tried this again, and it's great! There's still a tiny little oddity that feels a bit like a bug: The automation curve points don't understand what the mouse is doing if the pattern below is selected. Could this be addressed somehow? Like, the 2nd automation from the top here can't be reached...

Re: Juce plugins in bridged mode (pvst)

Yes, I just noticed! :o Maybe this is another Juce related problem? Then again, I don't recall any of my own Juce based plugins failing this way. I tried logging using Process Monitor while the preset bug happened, but it generated 800000 events, and the few things that I was able to find, that look...
