Re: Portability

What is this madness? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezQ_K1lnF4w
It doesn't have a keyboard, but someone built a handheld gaming PC. It's not exactly ultra-light, though.

Re: Portability

I casually mentioned using a GameCube chassis for a bagtop earlier. Someone did put a Nano-ITX computer in a GC case: http://forums.kustompcs.co.uk/showthread.php?t=51004 Don't know if it's battery driven, though. And someone did a non-nano, definitely not battery driven thing with an N64: http://ww...

Re: Portability

Any chance something like an Ocosmos OCS1 (or other UMPC) would be able to run Buzz (with lots of buffering and no VST's)? If not, is there any chance it might be upgraded to? Or that one could use an old OQO or something as the basis for a controller for a bagtop PC (bagtop being a word I just made...

Re: Portability

If there's a something closer to an 8" laptop that'll run Buzz decently and has enough ports (or places where one could put ports), that'd be a possible starting point. A 10" laptop might be a bit too much, especially after modifications. I mean, even taking it out of the shell, getting rid of the s...

Re: Portability

I looked into Raspberry Pi. Yeah, that's unlikely to work for this purpose (but I ordered one anyway because it's cheap and I can always find other uses for it...like learning pure data and realizing my old sampler idea or something...or making an arm worn computer). I'll look into this Nano ITX thi...

Re: Portability

No, I'm very specifically not looking for MIDI solutions. I'm talking about Buzz, specifically, being controlled by keyboard and pointer, with a screen, and running on a Windows PC of some sort, small enough to carry around everywhere but powerful enough to at least run Buzz smoothly on high latency...

Portability

So I've been thinking...what would be the most portable (smallest, battery driven) device that could run Buzz with decent stability and control (as in keyboard and ersatz mouse)? Either an existing product or something one could build with existing parts. I'm not thinking pocket size, but less wide ...

Re: can't get Chahurs xpmod to work

Make sure the dll file didn't end up in a subfolder (such as gear\generators\generators) when you extracted it. If it did, move the file to the correct folder.

Cool! I've been hip-hopping it in Buzz since I was 12.
Here's one of my relatively recent ones (with lyrics!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5T3e9Mfe7s

I just discovered a way to SCRATCH using UnwieldyTracker2!

I came up with the hypothesis some time ago, but today I decided to test it. I've yet to perfect it, but I know now that it can be done, and I've managed to use it in a way that sounds good, both fairly realistic and rhythmic. You can scratch with Fuzzpilz UnwieldyTracker2! It's a bit challenging, b...

No such file in that location. There's a gear_defaults.xml, with similar contents. Should I add it to that one?
By the way, I only have UnwieldyTracker 2. I don't have either version of its predecessor.

Sudden weird UnwieldyTracker2 glitch

This started happening probably about a week or two ago. If I use more than two Fuzziplz UnwieldyTracker2's in one project, I get weird clicks, drop outs and such. It's an inconsistent problem (as far as I can tell so far), and I'm not even sure if the more than two thing is a factor (that might jus...

Polac VST - pitch bend range?

I find myself rather frustrated trying to figure out how to change the pitch bend range of the Polac VST loader. 09 is the MIDI command, right? And FE is supposed to be pitch bend range. Yet, it makes no difference if I put in 09 FE00 or 09 FEFF. What am I missing?

Multi-sample XI instruments in Buzz?

Importing XI instruments via the wavetable works fine if they're very basic (one sample, with no looping or envelopes), but is there some way of using more complex XI instruments in Buzz? Does anybody know of a machine or VSTi that can properly load and use XI instruments?

Re: Missing machine: Soft Tone 3?

1. I guess you have tried to strip everything from the original file except M4wII and save it and opened it to test(if it is connected to an fx chain start by removing that). Have you tried to import that file(Or the original) Yep, didn't work. 2. I'm pretty sure you have changed presets on the mac...

Had exactly the same problem - http://forums.jeskola.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1010 The relevant solution being - Found out the source of the problem / bug - because the resolution of my screen is so high (1920 x 1080 - the recommended resolution according to my graphics card) the text is a little to...

Re: Weird graphics issues just got even weirder

did you change your window's dpi settings ? Not that I'm aware of. Is this the same as changing the resolution? With that, I'm at the highest setting, which is standard for my monitor, and everything outside of Buzz looks fine. btw, a picture says a thousand words, make a screenshot. Strangely, tod...
