Re: Aphex Twin uses a tracker
I remember there was a kickstarter for a buzz artist (techno or industrial I think) not too long ago, where he had a $10k package where you would learn the inner secrets of Buzz or something along those lines. Forget who it was...

Re: AMD Rysen worth it
I'd go by passmark benchmark score more than anything... but yes, Buzz tends to benefit from fewer faster cores over many slower cores. I run AMD 1090T on my workstation right now, it has high clock speed and performs great.

Aftertouch causing stuck notes when using MIDI port
As the title says, my aftertouch is causing stuck notes. I filtered it in Midi-OX, and the problems went away. Is there a way to compensate for this in Buzz?

I like to humanize manually (velocity and timing), especially with drums.

Hmm, so this ctrl+t thing, that's like a snapshot?!!?!?! Hmm... I feel as though I once knew this once upon a time. I feel like there was some stability issue with it and certain machines.

Polac ASIO Driver Utility
This script will allow you to easily change the Polac ASIO driver outside of Buzz when it is impossible to do it within Buzz. The list is populated based on the list of ASIO drivers installed in Windows. I have no idea if everything under that registry location is going to work under Buzz or not, so...

Re: Sound card reset?
Oh, that seems easy! I bet I can script this and write a tool to create a few regedit keys (i.e. a file for each sound card) based on that other key. Then you can just install whatever key based on which sound card you have plugged in!! I'll share on github when I have something ready to go, unless ...

Sound card reset?
How do you reset the Polac ASIO soundcard when your other soundcard is missing? This might be important to know in case I have a malfunction of my soundcard right before a performance, and need to use a different model (my m-audio micro for backup).

Re: Switching to Buzz with zero knowledge, HELP!
Don't forget the ctrl+g trick on patterns in Pattern XP. It toggles the bar mode, where you control + click to set values. I shouldn't be telling you this because learning hexadecimal is a really great skill, everyone should know how to do it in this age, because it is in almost everything in the fo...

Re: Switching to Buzz with zero knowledge, HELP!
If you want to record MIDI automation (with VSTs especially), you need to make the pattern compatible first. With Pattern XP you can select whatever parameters you want to automate, and only those, so normally I just pull up the patterns columns menu and check the partially filled in box. This gets ...

Re: Multi-Track Render - (Individual .WAV Tracks/per instrum
I'm still hoping for mtw code in MixIO, that would save me so many man hours it's not even funny. Because basically I do the same thing on every track and there isn't really a way to automate it that I am aware of.

Re: which audio interface are you using with buzz?
I just bought a Behringer U-Phoria UMC404HD Although I can't play backing tracks from foobar/VLC/smplayer/WMP anymore, because it locks the sound driver up. I guess I'll have to try vstPlayer instead. Or an iPod type media player hardware. That's really the only caveat that I've seen, but I needed s...

Be sure to check out the cool new plugins in the dev forum too. When you're new, sometimes you are less stuck in your ways, and there's some weird and cool plugins that are still being developed. Some of the best Buzz improvements have happened in the last few years, the MixIO is pretty good and som...

This is a problem in most DAW software actually, and in my experience is more to do with the VST standard (and buggy VSTs) than anything else.

Re: Buzz in Live Situations
I do 2 things live now: 1) I use Buzz for live keyboards. I assign a different MIDI channel for each song, and then IX Split (or do the split manually using PVST) per channel. 2) Improvisational techno (i.e. "Playing it Live"). I use just Oatmeal and drum machines for the moment with this....

Re: Best option for freezing tracks to .wav?
Sgorpi mtw is pretty easy to use, once you understand it. 1) add one to each machine you wish to record, name it to the track name machine -> sgorpi_mtw (renamed e.g.: piano track)-> something 2) you must connect the mtw to something so that sound passes through it, I don't know why but it does not ...

Re: Everything into Master, or mixer machine?
My routing is everything goes into mixio, then I split to channels out for the sgorpi multitrack writer, and then put it through the mastering chain. Sometimes I use 2-3 mixio's per song.

Re: Ancient user returns
Some game changing gear you need to check out: MixIO (probably the best mixer I've ever used) Check out PatternXP mod, and recent midi recording improvements in the new Buzz... it has improved a lot. Patterns can be customized (e.g. I only want the note column) even in the stock PatternXP, and there...
