Re: No sound output, ancient buzz user returning

You have to pick your midi input device in the preferences menu. Then it will pick up midi notes on channel 1 and send those to the machine in focus. You can set up other channels in the right click menu. I actually use Buzz for my live VST host when playing with my band. Very fast and works better ...

Re: .NET for Linux = Buzz on Linux?

I think the bigger problem is VSTs being supported under Wine. I have a hard enough time migrating between Windows versions... something always breaks in the transition. It happened every single time from 98 to 2000, 2000 to XP, XP to 7, and 7 to 10. As a Linux professional (RedHat), I would love to...

Re: new pvst beta (updated 25-Dec-2014)

I'm getting load errors on BiFilter 1.61 when setting up my new laptop (old laptop had an electronic failure of some sort). Not to worry, I keep good backups of everything. However, I cannot figure out how to troubleshoot this problem. OS Platform is Windows 10 64-bit, with the usual 32-bit Buzz ins...

Re: midi export trouble

I don't think MIDI export was ever working in the first place. I'd be quite happy to be wrong about this.

That is fantastic. Loved every second of it. :)

I am a bit partial to jazz.

Even though you live half a world away from me, I consider you one of my good friends.

Layer in some white noise and a little distortion.

Re: Buzz videos 01 + 02

I normally just drag and drop all the folders and files into the buzz directory in one operation. But I guess if you want to get a fine tuned install it helps to know what each piece does and why you are doing it. :ugeek:

Re: How to make bassy sounds

If you want really deep bass, use a sine wave. I know that sounds overly simple. However, you can apply a very light distortion to a sine wave and it will have a really nice bass sound. If you have a bass sound that is not bassy enough, try layering a sine wave (another synth usually) an octave belo...

Is there a way to make it respect the MIDI note-off instead of cycling through the whole loop when I let off?

Re: Recommended soundcards?

It's a fairly common requirement for recording microphones.

The Lexicon Lambda is a little cheaper, but you're going to be hard pressed to get a good interface for less than $100

Re: Recommended soundcards?

Get something that supports phantom power (also sometimes called "48V"), even if you don't plan on using it right away. External mic amps cost almost as much as cheaper interfaces. In your position, I'd probably go with the Scarlett 2i2.

Re: How to control Buzz with MIDIcontroller? (Novation noctu

Normally with MIDI, you go under Preferences... -> MIDI Input and define your input device with the drop down menu. This will allow you to play the keyboard, but not the knobs. To add the knobs, click the "Add..." button and wiggle the knob or slider to register it, give it a name, and cli...
