Re: Beta test please? (new vintage tube EQ)

1.2
Yes, it was still buggy. But this time I really (no seriously, really!) think I nailed it.

Please re-download.

Re: Buzz at 20

This track was originally made for this demo in march 2005: http://www.robotplanet.dk/files/music/Industrial/open_your_eyes_elektcompo.mp3 This one is also from 2005 or older: http://www.robotplanet.dk/files/music/Ambient_and_Dub/visne_blade.mp3 And this one I know is from 2001: http://www.robotplan...

Re: Beta test please? (new vintage tube EQ)

I've fixed a potential bug that might have caused weird behaviors when inserting a new instance of the EQ.

Please download v1.1 from the link in the first post.

(Edit a few days later) I still haven't had any weird things happen since the update. Please test if you can. Highly appreciated.

Re: Beta test please? (New Mars algo)

Yeah, I think most people are interested in having fewer technical problems, and the specific individuals who really do want a DC offset are probably nerdy enough to locate that attribute.

Also, the sound changes so little that I doubt anyone will notice the difference when loading old bmx files.

Re: Beta test please? (New Mars algo)

Paul Eye: You're quite right it does introduce DC.

I've been unsure of whether people would want it to be mathematically correct (no DC remover) or physically correct (having a DC remover built in).

It probably wouldn't be hard to do. Does anyone else have opinions on this?

Re: Beta test please? (new vintage tube EQ)

Hmm... i've also seen a few odd things happen.
If you get weird results, try loading the bmx again, or re-inserting the EQ.

Let's consider this a beta for now. :?

Re: AMD Rysen worth it

What limit? I have 8 logical cores here, and Windows 7 and 10 are both capable of seeing all of them. It's Buzz that has a limit of 12 cores: http://www.robotplanet.dk/f/buzzf/buzzcpu.gif And typically the real problem will be that one plugin cannot be distributed across several cores, so the per-co...

And now it's official.

Alright. Thanks to everyone who tested and helped coming with feedback. I might see if I can figure out how to make the number of EQ bands adjustable if I find out how to do this. For now you'll have to settle with three bands, which seemed like a useful amount. http://buzz.robotplanet.dk/machineinf...

Re: Beta test please? (new vintage tube EQ)

No no, the arrows in this: input --> eq band 1 (boost/cut & tube drive) --> eq band 2 (same) --> eq band 3 (same) --> output are meant as a signal path. This is serial. The new thing is that instead of first EQ'ing something and then applying some sort of "tube" to the whole sound, thi...

Re: Beta test please? (new vintage tube EQ)

mute: The new tube/valve mode is closer to the way tubes behave now than it was earlier. It has the same non-linear transfer curve that tubes have. I guess you inspired me to yet get a bit closer to the real thing (even though I realize I'm probably still way off a real tube EQ here.) Also fixed ano...

Re: Beta test please? (new vintage tube EQ)

The specific way i emulate tubes is actually fairly crude in this version. The new thing is the odd way I've made the "tubeness" affect what each individual band does, instead of the usual approach many other plugins often have. Typically they're like: input --> equalizer bands (boost/cut)...

Re: Beta test please? (new vintage tube EQ)

If anyone loaded the file yesterday, please reload it again. MantraTronic reported a bug that I just fixed. Also, more features.

PS: Don't use this in song yet, it's beta.

Re: should i take btdsys.lazytrap.com down?

I have no knowledge of the btd stuff or who's involved in continuing it. I just use the PeerLFO at rare occations, but that's about it, so it's tricky for me to tell what should be kept, and what may exist in a later version somewhere else. I do however think that the most recent versions of the com...

Beta test please? (new vintage tube EQ)

Everyone's welcome to give this little thing a whirl: http://buzz.robotplanet.dk/machineinfo.php?id=8203 Explanation: If you don't use the "drive" parameter, it behaves like a normal EQ. But the more you use the "drive", the more effect the boost will have when there's not a lot ...

Re: Copying pattern data as text

I just found one (slightly wrong) way of doing it: Press F3 for machine view, then right-click your machine and select Copy. This will copy the entire machine including patterns. Sadly the pattern data part is scrambled. You can then paste this into Notepad++ and save it as blabla.xml for later. Som...

Gear review: Behringer Deepmind 12

So finally I got to try the Behringer Deepmind 12, and I am not dissapointed. Okay, a slider came off despite being just 1 day old, but hey it's behringer, right? But the sound... wow. So here's a summary of my first impressions after one evening of toying around at a friend's place. Pros: It ...

Re: Beta test please? (New Mars algo)

Those preset files are very fragile. Back them up before upgrading and saving new presets. Edit them manually to change 2.4 into 2.5

New update: Different levels, "bass" slider reversed (because more people agreed it was reversed).
