Subpatterns wa?

I never learned how to use the subpatterns and subpattern effects. Searching today didn't reveal much to me. other than: "Subpatterns (allow you to trigger other patterns of the same machine) Subpattern effect 01 Play mode (00 = normal, 01 = loop, 02 = reverse, 03 = reverse loop) Subpattern eff...

MixIO is fantastic, changed my life.

Another good one is IX split if you want a channel strip with a true phase reverse.

Re: How to jump to pattern xy

I think you can use subpatterns to do this, although I've never had occasion to learn to use them and am only now beginning to experiment. "Subpatterns (allow you to trigger other patterns of the same machine) Subpattern effect 01 Play mode (00 = normal, 01 = loop, 02 = reverse, 03 = reverse lo...

What file format is a BMX?

I just opened one and it's a bunch of gobbledygook.

1: Is it an XML?
2: Can anyone give any enlightening information regarding the info in a BMX file and how it is organized?

Buzz changed my life. Thank you.

Just want to take the time to give thanks for this incredible piece of software and for the incredible community of genius on this forum. Buzz has been central to my life for about 6 years now. Re: Assigning start/stop controls to MIDI?

Great questions, I've wondered about the same things myself. The f5 f7 f8 carriage controls also don't work unless the base buzz window has focus! I depend on these buttons working, but I have to always remember to click with the mouse on the base window. I'm sure this is going to embarrass me at so...

Re: Best way to add groove/swing to your tracks?

But wait, what does ticks per beat do though? I admit I don't really understand this. Is this like a rhythmic resolution so I set it to the highest number!? lol. I'm leaving it at 4 for now, never cause me any issues in the past. I kind of understand what this is and I kind of don't. What is ticks p...

How do qsamo madulators work?

Qsamo is my main synth, but I must ashamedly admit I really don't know how to get the most out of the modulators. I've had some results using random unipolar and bipolar to create sonic variety, but I feel like much more is possible. Could anyone give me a run down of the options in the modulators a...

Re: Graphic issue (not showing gui, crashes Buzz, etc)

Most of us don't use 64bit buzz. It would be nice, but creates too many issues in it's current state.

Re: Crackle sound with ASIO4ALL

Awesome! Glad to hear it. Yeah, hold on to your drivers. There are no guarantees as you move forward into new versions. Nice CPU btw! Are you running ECC ram? If I had it all to do over again I might go with server parts for reliability. My daw computer is an ITX(lian li pc-tu-100a) built around a 4...

Re: Crackle sound with ASIO4ALL

What is your CPU usage when this is happening? Crackling is a common symptom of CPU overloading. If you're under windows, you might also have better results if, under advanced system settings you set it to prioritize background programs. I've had issues with the most recent version of ASIO4ALL, but ...

Re: Best way to add groove/swing to your tracks?

To clarify, what I have found works for me is setting rows per beat to 12, 60 or 120. 12 is the best option because in addition to it's numerical features, it doesn't interfere terribly with the readability of the tracker. If you subdivide the beat into 4 or 8 or 3 or 6, you're locking yourself into...

Spent the last year building electronic assemblies for the US military as per ipc/j-std, quit that because I'm a peaceful person. Have an electronics lab in my home now. Good trick, I'll have to try this. I usually just quickly create a bunch of copies of the clean pattern using Ctrl shift enter and record into those.

Re: Best way to add groove/swing to your tracks?

I do this manually by first subdividing the beat into 12 so that I can easily utilize 16th notes and triplets, then if you enter your note data in the midi channels you can use the midi note delay parameter for further subdivision into a more granular "feel". A bit of a headache but works ...
