Re: how to trigger samples in live situation
I'm not entirely sure what you mean. You could set up a system using UnwieldyTracker2 and a PeerCtl - with peer control of sample offset, stretch, retrigger, and reverse. I just had a quick go doing this, and you can get some interesting effects. In a non live situation I've used pitching up/down an...

Does anyone remember the noise bursts?
Nice quiet music, then PPSSSCCHHHHHHHAAAAGGHH, scrabbling for the volume control before your eardrums burst?

Re: Buzz and high DPI screens
Actually found a work-around, seems to scale ok using this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UijLRNQ6N7Q
Not particularly crisp as I think it is using bitmap scaling, but means I don't have to squint.

Buzz and high DPI screens
Hi
I recently got a dell XPS 13 which has a 3200 x 1800 screen
Buzz behaves oddly regarding scaling - the pattern editor and most of the interface are fine. The sequence editor doesn't scale at all, and hence is very, very small!
Has anyone got any experience of this, or any work-arounds?

Re: .NET for Linux = Buzz on Linux?
I don't know. I used to use Linux exclusively, but I got a touchscreen and Windows 8 a few years ago and started using Buzz again, so have moved away from it for everyday use. At the time there also seemed to be a retrograde step in terms of desktop environments - my Gnome 2.3 + Compiz desktop looke...

Re: .NET for Linux = Buzz on Linux?
Tried this recently with latest buzz build.
Buzz installs successfully, but then crashes with the msvcp100.dll concurrent queue base error
I would love this to work. I used to use old buzz on linux.

Re: Peerctrl parameter value, what is sustain?
Isn't this because PeerCtrl uses Stygmate's envelope.ocx, originally used in the wavetable. The sustain would have been used for a sustain level on samples.

Re: BTDsys PeerScream
Yes, I think there's similar things discussed on that
The mock-up from Joachip is an interesting idea
My thoughts were more related to the pattern editor, but editing from within the sequence view is a good concept, unsure how possible that would be.

Re: BTDsys PeerScream
Thanks. I was aware of the Ctrl-G mode, which is already very useful. PeerScream has a few advantages -shift + left mouse button will draw a Bezier curve -the automation curve is visible in the sequence editor -setting the subtick to 16 in PXP or PXP mod creates a massively long pattern. On PeerScre...

BTDsys PeerScream
Only just came across this machine, as I'd been looking at how automation is implemented in FLStudio, wondering if anything similar was available in Buzz. Not really the same, but incredibly useful, and by some kind of magic you can see the automation in the sequence editor Set the subtick resolutio...

Judging by my profile information on that hack, it's a long time since I used it. I'm probably a bit more security conscious now!

Re: MIDI control for buzzmachines?
You could use Peerctrl instead of binding things directly. This has several advantages - for example you can save a template with the Peerctrl bound to your midi controller, then whenever you start a new track you can assign things from within Peerctrl. This is much simpler, and easier to correct mi...

Re: How to make bassy sounds
Mixing in a sine wave, esp tuned to -12, is good for a nice deep bass, as mentioned. For a "pluck" kind of bass use a sawtooth with a fast attack and a relatively fast decay on a LP filter. I tend to use VSTi's quite a bit (free ones only) BlauKraut Engineering Charlatan has some good bass...

Re: Recommended soundcards?
I've got a Scarlett 2i4 and it works well, probably a bit over budget. Useful as it also has a midi interface and 4 audio outputs so you can have a go at DJing too.

Re: Copy and paste
If you're using a Buzz generator you could remember to load it in Polac VSTi instead. You also gain a bit of functionality - note delay/cut etc.

Fixed oomek aggressor 303?
I still love using this machine, but it restricts me to using 44.1kHz as otherwise it goes out of tune. I haven't come across a better way to quickly make 303 style synth lines. I found this text file describing a fixed version http://batman.no/buze/beta/Oomek%20Aggressor%20303.txt at http://batman....

Re: Pattern XP mod
I'm not sure if it's a bug, or just a limitation of Buzz itself. If I accidentally switch between pattern xp and the pattern xp mod all notes in a pattern get deleted when switching back, so be careful! This and a few other issues I previously mentioned make me really hesitant to use this amazing m...
