Re: 24-bit recording
. If you send your "techno musics" (<-I love the plural) 16bit mixdowns to mastering engineers they will plobably laugh for a second and then reply back that they need a 24bit (or higher) mixdown/render. wrong. many great records have been made / mastered with much less dynamic range than...

not neccessary. there's a backup of buzzchruch, someone just needs to take the time to get it to run again.

Re: I Love Buzz
i love buzz! I love that i can open a bmx from 2001 and it still works :) I love that its "total recall" / 100% digital workflow, never loose anything. Sold all my hardware :) I love that it has the perfect middle-ground between modularity / complexity / ease and speed of use. I love that ...

Re: peer machines and boolean values
get the latest versions of some machines. i've got the latest version of peerctrl, and when i right click>assignment settings, nothing happens. is there an older version which works with the latest build? you're probably missing some dll. maybe the PAL dll or something else. maybe use dependancy wa...

Re: How to enable Buzz splash screen?
I am using XP (SP3) for a long time until now and its working flawless for me. Boots up in 6 seconds. And it handles that NGEN thingy ;) perfect. It all depends on computers strength. Mine is about 5 years old, but it has still enough power (AMD Athlon 3200+ 2GHz). You need a stronger machine! I'm ...
Re: c++?
for dsp ? any language will do for experimenting, but actually implementing it for use in a vst / buzz machine c++ is the way to go. I'd take something that isn't too far away from c++. c# is nice to work with and kind of easy to port to c++ afterwards. http://www.dspguide.com/pdfbook.htm http://www...

Re: vu meters in machines and sequencer
You might have to start contributing to the GUI :D If you make a diff of the changes you make, then other ppl could recompile the GUI to include it if they want, without having to choose between updates from oskari and your dll's. (actually, I'd like the diff for the "hide new sequencer" ...

Re: vu meters in machines and sequencer
loop recorder also displays VU meters when you record, just look at that code too.
not sure what you mean with: "but you would have to enhance the BuzzGUI.MachineView with the math anyway." Yes ? its more or less copy from loop recoder, paste into machineview.

Re: hyperthreading
on my 2600k, buzz seems to spread the load onto the real cores first, which makes sense i guess. I wouldn't worry about it too much. The cpu (and buzz) seem to know quite well how to handle pretty much any situation you throw at it, even single threaded workloads are insanely fast. If you really run...

I can understand your point of view, your first comments just weren't very helpful and seemed a bit trollish.
but fair enough, I share the same hatred for M-Audio.

Re: Behringer B Control BCR2000 what do you think about it?
well, i have / had some doepfer gear (drehbank / pocket dial) that still worked after years, but not sure they even make them anymore. Replaced the mixer with an ecler one but thats a total different product category so won't help you. My point is just that i wouldn't buy behringer again, ever. Just...

maybe they have to replace them after every gig ;) go ahead, buy it, regret giving your money to a company that can't come up with durable products (not surprising for the cheap cheap cheap price). i owned several of their products, and they all broke quite fast. never again. btw, the bcf2000 died e...

Re: vu meters in machines and sequencer
buzzgui might have to be extended in order to bind a mini vu (output level of the machine) to the actual machine gui. you can use the "plug api" (same as loop-recorder uses) to get to the output samples for displaying vu. thanks but how? i had something like the jeskola limiter example in...
