Re: CPU performance in Buzz 1349 much better than latest bui

ok. so you use like 500 machines. why? is there no better way? i am sure you have your reasons and buzz can handle a virtually unlimited amount of machines. (not meant to be personal :) hehe, not normally, but in this project, it's not a normal song ;). The "focus" of the song is more of ...

Re: CPU performance in Buzz 1349 much better than latest bui

it sounds as if its not audio-thread related, but something with the gfx-thread thats going wrong. Or maybe ngen not working properly. i'm quite puzzled as to why your bmx is 17MB without wavs, that seems very wrong, how many machines and patterns do you have exactly ? It should be a few KB really....

Re: CPU performance in Buzz 1349 much better than latest bui

First of all, let me say thanks to all who replied so far, I really hope we can solve the situation here as I would be happy to update, but I won't do it if it brings down the cpu quality... Now, it should be mentioned I don't use any theme, I use nothing which can take cpu power except things which...

CPU performance in Buzz (general tips and tricks topic)

this is now a general topic to discuss cpu performance in buzz, giving tips for optimization so that we all can enjoy real-time audio, instead of a stuttering mess, without compromising the number of machines we use. original title: CPU performance in Buzz 1349 much better than latest build! edit: o...

Re: Sequence editor start loop point causes VST note off!

if some native buzz machines works still, it must be related your vst, or vst host. I'm not using the latest buzz build, nor the latest pvst and everything works fine for me. don't wanna rub it in your face, but while writing this I was enjoying looping a vst over-and-over, in a loop without trigger...

Re: MIDI triggering question: ON\OFF with trigger pedal

You could hook up your effect with a crossfader, then use your binary input (min/max) to fade between the two channels, which in this case could be the fx you want to mute and the machine which connects to the fx, just put them on one channel each and connect, and switch/fade between them. Other tha...

Re: Horizental scrolling.

This is a great suggestion,
but I doubt the old sequencer will get updated any time soon by Oskari himself
(who has too much else to do, I think...)
I don't think too much code is required though... maybe someone could do a hack?

Re: OMG UTrk 2 Mtrk 3 and updated Mtrk 2

It's not mysterious at all if this stuff is still there: if( m_hDlg ) { // TODO: replace these with a PostMessage to avoid deadlocks in the about box (!) char temp[80]; sprintf( temp, "%d", usedchannels ); Static_SetText( GetDlgItem(m_hDlg,IDC_CHANNELCOUNT), temp ); sprintf( temp, "%...

Re: OMG UTrk 2 Mtrk 3 and updated Mtrk 2

Great news indeed :D (though Xaphoid already mentioned the new utrk in another thread some time ago, and there's a topic for matilde 2 / 3 already) Especially good news for 24-bit samples buzzers, but multi-out is good for anyone I guess :) I may not be using the most up to date buzz, but the about ...

Re: Volume Effect machine suggestion?

I think what we need for buzz is some buzz host/pxp support for custom evelopes which can be recalled in pxp and would override the original non-linear interpolations/intertias. Even if some old machines have only like 256 different settings on some sliders, many has much more, and could use this wi...

Re: Visualization plugin PoC

This seems very interesting... however, I'm curious about this step: "3. Build and copy Souvi.dll to gear\effects" Build? Why wasn't the already built file included? I don't know how to build this... Sorry Dean, didn't see your reply earlier. The visualization concept is highly experiment...

Re: "Copy" button missing from parameter window?

you don't need to type one letter at ta time in pattern view, just mark all columns and hit ctrl+T.
All columns which are selected while hitting Ctrl+t will have the current values of the machines data inserted.

Re: Pattern Clips

What is Aodix? About clips, I've worked so much in buzz I tend to get used to "workarounds", anyhting which can make good for flow is obvsiouly good :) I guess it could also be seen as a way to make a "sequence" or pattern template (much like machine view/gear template), or the a...

Re: sequence editor zoom not keeping focus.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but maybe we mean the same thing. Or at least I'm having a similar request (for a bug to be fixed) in the old secuencer - when zoomin in and out (changing step value) with shift - and +, the focus/cursor goes to the top of the track. If you have a long track then that m...

Re: Pattern Clips

So basicly, this is a visual way to do what you could do with subpattern features? maybe it would be nice if this sequencer mockup thing would also have a "copy to subpattern" feature... at the moment I do like everyone else and copy+paste parts in sequence editor (works fine for me). If I...

Re: Hard Disk Recorder and "Eye Candies"

I think it really depends on what machines you are using...it's only when I try using an older machine (like pre 2004) that it has happened for me on the new buzz builds. yes, it's really about which machines... I tend to use certain old machines because of a certain sound which they create, so I d...

Re: Hard Disk Recorder and "Eye Candies"

most of the noise burst problems seem to have been fixed with newer versions of buzz..I haven't heard one in over a year. but I usually just stick a limiter on the "master channel" anyway. actually with some machine sequences combos, they are quite common. I can't say exactly what though....
