Re: Would you pay for commercial Buzz?
Yes, I would pay for Buzz if it went commercial. That would also spell a different lifestyle for Oskari as it would become a business. The bottom line is that we all love Buzz here, and we all would also love to see more features. That would save time from bouncing back and forth between different D...

Re: Do you use a sampler?
Alchemy, Iris, ElectraX (yes it can play samples), Battery 4, ScannerXT (OMG)... All great in their own way, sound killer too. ElectraX is a little moody, but does the job. Great thing about things like ScannerXT, Iris, and ElextraX is that you can resynthesize your samples, kinda like having them e...

Re: Multiple cores?
Thanks man. Most of this stuff is way over my head. I'll try the trick with directly connecting everything to the master output. I always run everything into a transparent brickwall set to -0.1 dB just to make sure nothing clips when I'm writing/mixing. Now that I think about it, it actually makes A...

Re: Vintage color
AXP sounds interesting. Plogue released a very unique bit crusher called chipcrusher. It has some really interesting features. A bit dangerous. Can't stay away from tape plugins (tone boosters ReelBus is very affordable, spooky affordable, and in shootouts loses only to Slate Digital VTM), psp eqs a...

Re: Laptop setup - CPU troubles
It's on. I can still get a lot in with it, but there always comes a point when the crackling starts and everything slows down to a crawl. I usually just work on instruments in groups and unplug whole chains to save CPU, when it comes down to mixing the whole thing...it's tough, just hope for the bes...

Re: Multiple cores?
The multithreading is switched on. You're right though, I should have said -60%. So that seems to be working. Buzz and system are both x64, so are all of my VST's. I've read in other forums, not Buzz, people talking about their CPU 1 being utilized the most, but then there are others (like yourself)...

Re: Laptop setup - CPU troubles
Oh yes it does need cores. I'm going over 100% on every project, so yeah...I need more cores. And no matter what I use or how much of it, those cores stayed parked. I unparked them manually but yes, I will confess, it didn't make much of a difference. Still, in the Resourse manager under the heavies...

Re: Multiple cores?
I use Buzz x64. I use stricktly VSTs. I buy them, no cracks. I run on turbo 100% of the time (try running several Divas in divine mode with a lot of modulation, voices, tape...), my overhead can easily read over 60%...every time I would simultaneously with Buzz pull up Resourse Manager or Intel Extr...

Re: Multiple cores?
Pull up resource manager and see your CPU utilization, Buzz doesn't utilize all cores very effectively.

Re: Laptop setup - CPU troubles
I found a few tricks to make things a little more snappier. Windows by default parks half of your cores, so if you have a six core CPU, Buzz will only utilize 3. I know this is meant as a power saver, and ideally those cores will become unparked under a heavy load, but when I pulled up the Resource ...

Re: new pvst beta (updated 08-Jun-2013)
SOLVED: Switched back to Slate Digital VBC 1.0.1.6 which solved all the crashing and shutting down. Around the same time as the new VBC update came out Windows released a bunch of security updates for Win 7 64, apparently both updates don't like each other. So recap: VBC 1.0.1.8 + win 7 64 + Buzz 64...

Re: new pvst beta (updated 08-Jun-2013)
It was a regular automatic update. But that never affected anything. I'm honestly shooting in the dark, it's most likely not the Polac VST loader that's doing it. I've never heard of pcs shutting down by themselves without a good reason. I load vsts in a very primitive way: I pull up a x64 shell in ...

Re: new pvst beta (updated 08-Jun-2013)
Hello, I have another boo boo. Not sure what's happening, but after a recent windows 7 64 update all of my songs with tone 2 electrax now crash or shut down my PC all together. I already wrote to Tone 2, waiting for them to respond. Just wondering if it's something anyone else encountered. No viruse...

My six-core runs out of breath no problem. Until quantum computers come out 20 years from now I don't think I'll stop chasing DSP.
