BTDsys audio track

Post by mridlen »

Can someone explain how to use the BTDsys audio track machine? I'm a little lost. I import a wav, but I hit play and nothing happens. Is this just not a functional machine yet?

Ok I think I finally figured out what I was missing:

1) Audio Track new pattern of length 8192 (longest possible... just because I'm lazy)
2) Menu -> Import -> From File...
3) Click on the track so it is selected
4) Menu -> Select -> All
5) Menu -> Take -> Set Active

Viola!

However, I might have to play with the BPM/TPB to get a longer track to fit. Any ideas or workarounds?

Ok, I was able to come up with a workaround. Provided there is silence at some point in the track.

1) In Audacity or other audio editor, split the file up into smaller portions. Leave in the silence for logistical purposes.
2) In Buzz, load up audio track
3) Set up the patterns with your audio clips
4) Align the first pattern with the beat
5) Set the Step = 1 in song view for maximum resolution
6) Trigger the next pattern when the previous audio cuts out
7) Make adjustments as needed
8) Set the step back to 16 or whatever you prefer

Hey!

From the sounds of it you're just using Audiotrack as a way to play samples or snippets. That's cool, though you could just as easily use the wavetable and any sample tracker (Matilde, etc.), though you wouldn't get the pretty waveforms in the sequencer view.

Audiotrack is intended to be a tool for recording, which is its real strength imo. There's an video that shows how to use it here:
