Global tune...

Post by rajmond »

Yo,

I've been wanting to join the movement who believe that hitler was an alien and all that crap. La rouche for the win etc.

No but seriously, I want to experiment around a bit changing the pitch of everything and I would not like to detune around a lot so changing the global pitch to 432 hz as an experiment. yadayada. Any takers on how to do this in buzz? (since i am madly in love and think that oskari is an alien sent from the ancient egyptians)

Please, don't go there (432Hz). It's all BS anyways (everything is just relative).

There is no spoo...global Buzz tuning. Change pitch (relative or unrelative to speed) in your wave editor of choice...or record to DAT/cassette/tape/reel-to-reel and then slow the tape speed down.

the best way to convert a file to 432hz by buzzplugins (while output is still 44.100 hz or other defaults)
is by loading a .wav in jeskola XS-1 and set master tune to 432 hz in it,
and set max quality/interpolation and then re-record it.

Another way is to use the plugins that have the capability to lower frequency to
-32 or -31 % of a semitone (which one is it ? -- answer: 32 % /(edit)) and/or are compatible with kibibu peertune.
(so the musician hears the result immediatly)
peertune: Matilde2, kibibu green milk, bigyo notefilter
infector: command E5 7FB0. ld jacinth (rightclick).

.. :| as a contrabassist, the instrument becomes most likely more stable
when correctly pitching down a little, but a neighbor trumpetist loses one of
his tubes at the first strong blow in the concert... :(

Well, I've tried around some and imao it just sounds very sour... But maybe my ears are destroyed by the nazi-western standard.

...And 424Hz compared to 432Hz will also sound sour, as it is still relative. ;)

I instead suggest going micro-tuning (tuning each note differently) with GreenMilk, WoodOne, EarthPlate, Matilde Tracker, etc. Try Kibibu PeerTune on these machines. Ask master Tinga for even more (complete?) information.

Or you can try other temperaments than the 12 ("western nazi") Tone Equal Temperament. Why not try 16, 19, 22, 24, 31, 36, etc equal tone temperament (TET)? Crazy results :) :

A measured phenomenon of effect that may support the idea of using A=432hz and 256Hz as a scientific concert pitch is also based on the amount of partials of A=432Hz from a musical scale that seem to correlate to organic systems and the measurement of planetary movement, the Sun and Saturn for example. Saturn is one of the solar systems accurate time pieces and it orbits the procession ever 864 of its years (432 x 2).
And I already made a Saturn buzz machine... what have I started?

I have had that same experience, and the same by lowering the frequency another 32 cents, like evelon did,

but the only difference I could imagine is that if you listen to your own tracks/loops a very long
time, you don't get bored by it (less chance, I mean),
but I get bored by my own tracks every day, so I should try it again, another time,
before we lose another 6 million ;) .

(ow, I forgot to put fuzzpilz unpieldywitch to the end of the above 432hz list.)
