Matilde Tracker 3 fails to load. [SOLVED]

Post by Mozart von Robot »

I got a new computer. The new Intel NUC i7 model, on which I installed Windows 7, which is what I have on my i5 laptop as well. Obviously, I want to run Buzz on it. I copy all of my machines from my laptop, and have been installing VST's one by one. I just decided to try to open some old BMX files to see what VST's I'm missing most desperately. To my surprise, this happens:

So I re-download Matilde Tracker 3 in hopes that the file was just damaged or something. Apparently not so, because when I open Buzz and try to load said machine, the same message pops up again.

Does anybody know what's wrong and/or how to solve it? Is it a setting somewhere?

Oh, problem solved. This file was missing from the Buzz folder, in case anyone else has this problem. http://www.dlldump.com/dllfiles/M/MSVCR71.dll

Is that site safe? Chrome claims that it is an attack site.

Aye I'd be careful with sites like that, the dlls could be anything !
I'd personally fix it using the always useful fixkit - http://www.buzzmachines.com/utils/Buzzfixkit021217.zip

Just for reference: this file comes as part of the .NET 1.1 distribution, so install that. Once you've done this, find MSVCR71.DLL in your Windows directory; copy it into the Buzz\ directory (I think; it's either that or Buzz\Gear). Putting it into Buzz\Gear\Generators doesn't work. (And doing so also stops Dependency Walker from identifying the issue with the .DLL, because it's not missing, just in the wrong place.)
