Subpattern global vs. local (what's the difference?)

Hey guys,

1) Whats the difference between 'Subpattern Trigger Global' and 'SP Local' ?

2) Why is sometimes only local available (global grayed out) and sometimes not?
(I thought it had something to do with multiple tracks per pattern, but it seems to have nothing to do with that...)

Thanks,

tL.

What is it? Is this question so stupid that I should know without asking

or does nobody here actually knows what the answer is??

I thought subpatterns are used widely (why the hell shouldn't they?), so I can't imagine the latter actually....

So can someone please enlighten me?

Thanks.

I asked the same Q and didn't get an answer. It seems to me that it would have to do with tracks per pattern, as you say. If you enable a global subpattern, you only get one column, if you enter track subpatterns you get one column per track.

But, as you probably know if you trigger a subpattern in track mode, it's not like it plays only one track. It will play them all as far as I've seen.

However I was thinking that this might be a synth and note data specific thing. Perhaps it will play data per track on other machines.

Like mixio. Maybe triggering a subpattern on a specific tracks gain will do a subpattern on only that tracks gain. I will give this a try soon and post my results.
