Hey Joachip!
Thank you for your response.
I found today on this great forum similar thread(older one 2013-2014) about using multi cores in specific software.
Didn't know about it, until now. Maybe, if someone is looking for more info here is the interesting topic too!

Agree, about that 'Sad fact' section to figuring out audio performance .

thanx for the link.

well, the new Ryzen 5900x with 12 cores (!), high IPC and cache and better floating point calculations should be the the king for BUZZ then. :D but 549,- :!:

EDIT: this brought me back to reading about audio processing and hardware. Then, I decided to deactivate(!) the hyper-threading of my 4 core XEON cpu in BIOS, its a security issue, too, by the way. Deactivated multithreading in BUZZ, too. And I think I have less glitches when doing other things in parallel (surfing) while playing real-time buzz songs with high cpu demand. I will observe it.

That's interesting. If you have better results and smoother running your system and Buzz with no HT,then keep this settings.I will keep HT turned on in BIOS,as well in Buzz too.
Maybe this multi-core using depends on actual native Buzz machine, version of operating system (scheduler ), Win7 , Win8.1, in Win10 - frequent updates  and so on.
(EDIT : I'm using ASIO drivers especially for my E-MU soundcard.I can't use ASIO4All drivers.Mainboard audio disabled in BIOS.GPU card audio disabled too).
In Buzz, I use to disable multithreading in gear. xml file.

thanx, :) but HT is for OS and and MT for Buzz only I suppose. In my case I have glitches because of the OS processes (firefox etc) that share the same core. Difficult for real time processing. I like surfing while composing/mastering/mixing, changing the focus of attention to more automatic listening and prevent "over focusing". ;)
Tested it with HT on/off and MT off.

@temporalsounds: thank you for the list. If I decide to reactivate HT I will use it, although I must admit I usually don't use the listed machines ;) wwill see...

No problem, like I said,if the system runs better I would do same setting like you.Anyway, you are not alone who tried this.Thank you HF for know-how.Let's make music

Ok, I got my system up and running. Wonder what a good metric is for testing machine load? I might try to write a sequel to "FTL" which was kind of a load testing song. Something like 80 instances of Oatmeal. :?

temporalsounds wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2020 8:21 am If you mean DPC ,no I didn't look for latencies in this case. :o
Anyway, the next problem will be maybe in PCIe >to PCI legacy adapter. Not sure, how it will runs. Latencies ,compatibility etc etc
If there will be problem in Win10, I'll everything move to children's PC , they will need it for online school lessons.
Motherboard is Gigabyte B450 Aorus M (older chipset with no support PCIe gen.4),nevermind.
RAM : Patriot Viper Steel series 16GB 3200

How is it going with the hardware (and Buzz) ?

Hi HerrFornit.
Hmm, actually not sure what to say. Yes, new motherboard ,worked good, just only what I want to run, was not working.
:(
PCIe > PCI adapter is not recognized, or detected on this motherboard in my case. Tried some settings in BIOS...no changes, then loaded default
settings ,restarting and now MB won't load anymore. One thing working perfectly : RGB lights, I'm satisfied ..
I sent the motherboard to seller to check it.
Now waiting with my old hardware working better.. ridiculous
Thanks for asking HF !

Oh my dear, worst case almost.
Hope you get it back repaired. If not you could perhaps try bios reset by hardware pin bridging on MB. You know of course. I had to do it once when my MB was "locked in" , a couple of years ago. Unfortunately I dont know anything about PCI adapters, wish you good luck with it. Perhaps a hardware expert in the forum can help - who knows....

Don't worry , I have fixed the problem with another motherboard Biostar B550 chipset,it has PCI legacy slot. ;)
Not tested yet.

Hi HerrFornit. Some TPM 2.0 device is founded on motherboard. Captured in UEFI bios . I think it is for new Win 11 ?
If there will be not issues in Win 11 with my E-MU soundcard drivers like in Win 10, I'll go to Win 11.
But I think ,Microsoft changed a coat only... :D

E-MU soundcard is working good
After year building new system with Ryzen CPU, I got my old soundcard working finally
EDIT: I don't know about latencies yet. It is bridged with Asmedia ASM1083 chipset.

I'm really curious ,what will Win 11 brings to us...for example : for developers, coders ,music artists ,creators ..and so on...
I think ,all is focused to consumers and gamers ,not to content creators ... in my eyes :? IMHO of course,
but no matter , everyone can find what is searching.

yeah, what you can read it is a Win10 under the hood, so it should all run, it SHOULD ... ;) originally it was planed as a major update for Win10, you know. Perhaps Oskari is doing an new version for Win11, but I don't believe in that honestly :(
