Hi thought this might of be an interest. Looks like a pretty sweet synth. It is open source so you can change it

Yes, great machine, with good presets, I like the sound, cool to see free vsti with this quality, I didn't try the vocoder, each oscillator can be an audio input. 8-)

Surge is now very interesting, I like it because it has 12 LFO, accepts scala files, better filters now, a nightly build, a new gui, lot of presets, dual mode, many good things, a must have free hybrid synth.
The surge team maintains also Dexed

While we're talking about open source synths, I'd recommend trying Odin 2

https://www.thewavewarden.com/odin2

It's not as deep as Surge, but still loads of possibilities.

Did you make a full rescan? (or scan for new, I forget it every time)

Oh. Well I did now, but the filename is "Surge.vst3" and VSTi can only load a dll extension.

Glad to see Dexed is finally under active development again! It desperately needs a rescaleable GUI - programming it these days on a high-res setup is about as obnoxious as programming an actual DX7.

try to add in VSTi preferences this directory:
Just the parent directory (\VST3\) is good enough, PVST is smart enough to automatically parse all subdirectories.

You also don't need to rescan (or at least, I don't, not when adding new VSTs - I believe it automatically scans for new machines on Buzz launch). EDIT: Oddly, you actually DO need to manually scan new to detect new VST3s - though VST2s are auto-detected on launch. Weird!

However, in order to actually load VST3s, you can't use the PVST double-click menu. Instead, search for the machine name on the right panel:

(you can also right-click a VST machine and go to Plugins > , but I prefer being able to filter with text input :D)

As we speaking about interesting synths - check out new free one Vital. It's amazing HQ wavetable synth. It have many unique features as text to wavetable, stereo modulations, pitch snap to scale per oscilator/wavetable and many interesting wavetable modulations like - making shepard tone from single note. It also have modern standard features like MPE support, microtonal, audio-rate modulation and possibility modulating a modulator

Thanks! I'd read about this being under development a few months ago.

Impossible to have Surge in Buzz
I have added the vst3 directory to Polac VSTi preferences (C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST3) and also I did the same with the program files "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3".
But I cant load the "Surge.vst3" file, it doesnt not appears, even after a scan for new. Must I do a full rescan ?
Some stuff I dont understand very well : there is both bin32 and a bin64 in Buzz directory. Is it ok ?
And I have installed both the pvst64_v1.1.10b34 and the pvst_v1.1.10b34.
Should I install a Buzz 64 also to be able to load vst3 ?
Thanks

I also had problems to load the vst3 version.
Opening it in the x64 version of BUZZ worked. The saved file nopw also opens in Buzz x86.
You can try it and save it as a template if it works.
Here is the saved file (with only one instance of Surge, nothing else)
Surge.zip

Before you could try to scan only the vst3 loader in polac preferences ....

Good luck! ;)

Hi Mag
I have installed Polac VST: pvst_v1.1.10b34 in 32bit Buzz ,pvst64_v1.1.10b34 in 64bit Buzz
bin64 directory installed in 32bit Buzz,bin32 directory in 64bit Buzz
I click "Scan For New " after installing Surge( x86 only plugin). But I'm not sure now.I think ,Buzz scanned all plugins I added in Global 2 preferences.
Try first that thOke's method for sure..

It is wrong to install both pvst packages to 32bit Buzz. There should be only a bin64 directory. In 64bit buzz there should be a bin32 directory.

pvst_v1.1.10b34 is meant for 32bit Buzz.
pvst64_v1.1.10b34 is meant for 64bit Buzz.

Also both Surge versions(x64/x86) should work in 32bit Buzz. However I would use the 32bit version in 32bit Buzz. But I'll check if I can get the 64bit version of Surge working.

Ok i checked the 64bit version of Surge, seems to work in 32bit Buzz here. What i have done:

polac VSTi > preferences > global2 > scanshell > vsti3shell.x64.dll > restart BUZZ

I don't understand the "scan shell" part. If I click on it, nothing happens. I also don't even know how to have VSTs appear in the machine search like River Cricket shows. Not even my working VSTs appear in that list.
