Very excited, a little overwhelmed.

OK, so I've been using Buzz/clones for 10 years this year.

I decided to see what was going on with development, since Ive been using Buze for 5-6 years now.

I am excited to see there is a spanky-looking-new-version of Buzz!

What is the best way to download it?

Are there "packs" like the old hamsteralliance pack for this version?

What are some new features?

Screenshots?

Is there a good guide somewhere?

SO EXCITED, and I honestly just feel overwhelmed with all of this new info, and would appreciate a point in the right directions.

Just download the installer from http://www.jeskola.net/buzz/ (stick with the x86 version to make your life easier), run it, then after it's installed copy your gear folder from your old install of Buzz to the new one, then maybe update to the latest Polac VST/i loaders ( viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7 ), and bam - you're done !

EDIT: Actually, as the [very] latest builds of Buzz are maybe a little bit too beta, you'd probably be best to stick with the latest stable build which is this one (version 1453) - http://jeskola.net/buzz/beta/files/setu ... up1453.exe

All the builds pretty much - there's tiny updates with each release (see the changelog - http://jeskola.net/buzz/beta/files/changelog.txt ) but the overall workflow is the same. The version I posted is less than a month old and the only real differences are behind the scenes stuff (that's perhaps being a little simplistic but I don't want to overwhelm you with all the details)

I think that page would be from 1440-1453 I think, which is on the more current end for the wiki. it got pretty hard to keep up with all the new features for a month or two The most current information is here on the forum.

In terms of things to try, I would recommend Qsamo and pxp first. Qsamo is a very powerful synth that oskari made, and it's included in the installer. pxp is pattern xp, a newish pattern editor with good copy paste, a "rows per beat" for each pattern (so you can have more detail in a drum pattern etc) that you can select when you are in the pattern view.

There's no starter pack like the old hamster one unfortunatly, and most of us would say only add machines you want. There is a full pack, but because a lot of the older machines dont work with some or all of the new features, it's best to avoid it unless you have old .bmx's that you want to open. Buzzmachines has been mentioned by mcbpete already, and I'd get joachip's machines (the latest versions), the latest utrk and mtrk, mixIO, Infector, Green Milk, and Blok. That gives you effects, mixing + mastering tools, two trackers and 3 very fine synths

On the wiki page the hdd recorder section needs to be edited, it also supports 32 bit float ieee.

No, those are the last ones btd did. I'm working (sporadically) on the ones at SourceForge.

My updated PeerScale has a weird bug that I haven't traced yet where PeerChord mode doesn't work from patterns, so stick with btd's version.
