wish: possible to set a negative latency value

Post by lissi »

I really love this "Latency..." setting on every machine. But if it would be possible to set negative values, e.g. "-200" so that the notes came earlier rather than later it would be even better.

ps. my band is playing on the famous venue Moulin Rouge in Paris next week if anyone is in that area, of course using buzz on stage as always :)

Best,
Lissi

I'm not a dev, but I don't see how that would be possible without a flux capacitor.

by delaying all the other tracks 200ms. thats kind of how it works already anyway, just add a manual (positive) delay on all the other chains.

a flux capacitor would be great in buzz ;)

well, i tried 88mph on the highway once while running buzz.
but i guess it´s the notebook battery´s fault that it did not work.
ah, wait..i forgot about setting the time signature correctly...

I think I know what you mean. Especially when working with drums in a tracker like Matilde or UTrk, I've often wished that "note delay" was a value from e.g. -100 to +100 with 0 being "precisely on the beat". This would require the tracker to be able to see into the future. :o

This would probably not be possible without some rather fundamental changes to both the tracker and - maybe also - Buzz itself.

In a live scenario, knowing what notes are gonna be played in a few milliseconds is even harder... obviously.
