Buzztler wrote:@ chahur: Well Pattern XP Mod seems to be a very nice tool within buzz ... can you please tell me: is there any chance to get it going under Win XP :?: What are the minimum system requirements :?: (I can press the buttons, but nothing happens!)
I'm working with win7.
I have another computer with XP, I have tried, it's strange ... I will try to understand why it doesn't work.

Update :
- Version XP compatible.

The hack to show the hints on the toolbar doesn't work on XP.
So, I have disabled it if the version of windows is < Vista.

Woah, thx for your effort in advance, I'll give it a try on my system at home ...
not to imagine what I'll do if it works ...

Added :
- Selection of the Arpeggio file to use

This works similar to the Chords files, you can select the Arpeggio file you want.
"Custom.arp" is still reserved to save new arpeggio from the editor.
Use a text editor to open the file "Custom.arp" and copy parts of it to another ".arp" file.

I've been away from the Buzz forums for quite some time, a few years, mostly a lurker at best. So I want to say hello again to the Buzz Community!

I also want to thank Oskari for revitalizing Buzz! I've been having a total blast working on new material with his new versions. And to chahur for this wonderful mod! When I was buzzing before, I always longed for an easy way to add chords and arpeggios to my buzz comps.

That being said, I have a question. I'm using the xd - simplon 3.4 theme currently in 32-bit Buzz build 1499 in Win7 64-bit. When I open the Chord expert panel the chord names are black on extremely dark grey, almost black. The text shows up fine when the box is highlighted.

I'm wondering if there is a way to change this behavior and get white or lighter color text to show?

Thanks!

(Off the 'net for the remainder of the week so I won't be able to respond until I return home.)

Yes, same request. I am using a dark theme too, would be nice to change text color. :)

I will have a look at that.

hi does this work in 64bit noticed the 64bit version has.64 after it so i presume it does not. The problem i am having some plugins i use all the time just won't work in 32 bit but fine in 64 bit. No idea why what i do know is that if the plugin uses samples it hangs in 32 bit and crashes buzz. Kontakt, Spark and Sonic synth all display the same behaviour in 32 bit but not in 64 bit. They used to work and still load but if i try and add any of the same plugins it crashes. Is there any plans to make a 64 bit compatible version

Yes, but I don't know how to do that with VC++ 2010 Express.
I have seen that VC++ 2013 can compile in 64bits.
But VC++ 2013 is only available on windows 8, and I am still under windows 7.
I'm waiting for windows 10 update to do that ...
If someone have a faster solution, I'm OK to try.

That's a bit miserly by microsoft whats the thinking behind that i wonder. Surely not a sales ploy. I do a bit of pc building no-one wants win 8 always 7. I have it on my phone seems ok not used it to do anything though. Did get a midi program to work with wifi so i could control synths thru my phone which is fun. Got this insane camera on it 41mp . Win 10 is out soon so no worries.

You probably tried the wrong version. https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/prod ... mmunity-vs works on win7.

Update :
- Developped with "Visual Studio Community 2013" : "Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable package" NEEDED
- Better support of Theme colors
- Experimental x64 version

Thanks to Oskari, I switched from "Visual C++ 2010 Express" to "Visual Studio Community 2013".
There are several changes following that :
- The MFC used is now the MFC 120, you need to install the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable package" if you don't already have this MFC version.
- The x64 version is available, but experimental ...
- The x86 version needs to be fully tested again because of this big change (I have not done it yet).
- You 'd better save the previous PatternXP DLL before installing this version, in case everything turn wrong :-)

Thanks for looking into the text color issue. I'll be sure to give the new version a good workout! ;)

Hey Chahur, thanks a lot, my dark version theme works now perfect with the chord expert dialog.
You really do a great job keeping buzz alive and growing. 8-)

x86-version works fine, tracks are loading, playing and stay editable – I didn't notice any misbehavior ...

 As I noticed now: there are mostly all tool bar buttons colored now ...

 It is now as I already expected it, when I read about the colours in the chord-thingy!

None of the new versions runs under Win XP :( . I tweaked my theme before, so I could work with the former version without any problems (just made the background a bit brighter), so finally I think there is no chance to get it working under XP again ...
I get an error message that "the procedure cannot be found" and I do not see anything of the whole Pattern XP mod in my buzz  ... is there still a chance to get it going :?: vcr is already installed, seems there is something else needed under XP ...

I can reproduce the problem.
Dependency Walker don't tell me where the problem is, just says there is and unresolved import ... but where ?
I will investigate.

PatternXP for XP ...
I don't know why Visual Studio Community 2013 build a non compatible XP DLL.
So I keep the VC++ 2010 project for XP.
I have added a special XP version to download.
