Good question! being able to move the notes around using the mouse/keyboard would be my biggest feature request.

seriously. its unusable in its current state but with a nice update or mod it would make the program so strong. would be nice to hear sound from it too.

Well... I made a Buzz pianoroll and have been using it for years, but I never posted it because it remains, to this day, ridiculously user-unfriendly. It's glitchy and unstable (crashes if you click in the wrong places), complicated (has a pop-up code window that you need to edit whenever you add a target) and only works through a bunch of undocumented keyboard shortcuts. No existing pianoroll offered what I wanted so I crafted that one to suit my needs, and I can use it efficiently (plus i can stick with buzz), but it's a sort of schizoid mess.

It's also getting difficult to extend because the code is ugly. So I've been wanting to make a proper, clean, useable version with more features on the map, re-coding it from the ground up, but that version is still in early stages.

I often wonder why there doesn't exist a nice pianoroll vst. Those things ought to be modular like the rest of digital music-making components.

Well, there is an interesting bit of abandonware called Phrazor that has a decent piano roll. Problem(?) is it's also a chainer, keyboard-splitter, preset manager and a million other things ....

I was thinking about it and i think it could be really cool if we could get sound out of it and be able to completely edit takes on it. Also, there could be something like layers which allow us to change velocity etc. maybe even user defined parameters, like a peer piano roll... just thinking though, i have no know-how
