Hi,
just a heads up.
Audacity 2.2.0 has been released with new GUI and MIDI playback (s. below)
Sounds funny!
Also better: default no new track after interrupting recording.

New in Audacity 2.2.0:
Major new features – see updated manual for details:
Four supplied user interface themes, and customizability of themes for advanced users (thanks to James Crook and the Dark Audacity project)
Playback of MIDI files (fully automatic on Windows; requires cooperating software synthesizer programs on macOs or Linux; special thanks to Audacity co-founder Roger Dannenberg and new contributor “pokechu22”)
Better organized menus (James)
Help link buttons in many dialogs lead to the relevant manual pages (James Crook and Steve Daulton)
Changed in Audacity 2.2.0:
Thorough update of the manual with new images, more hover texts, and more cross-references
198 bugs/annoyances in 2.1.3 fixed, most importantly:
Improved recovery from full file system errors; in case of recording, Audacity 2.2.0 will preserve as much of the recorded data as possible
Complete support for macOS 10.12 (Sierra) correcting the problems that were in 2.1.3
Fuller details on the changes since 2.1.3 can be found in the 2.2.0 Release Notes.

Thx for the info ... I downloaded audacity already but had no time to install it ... now I'll check it out at the weekend ... seems to be christmas-time already

Really like audacity does what it says on the tin. It's a pity it could not be integrated into buzz as a plugin somehow.

I like how the channels are represented by different colors. But eww. Every time I look at a piano-roll it triggers my OCD. Where are those notes exactly in time?
