Polac VST - pitch bend range?

I find myself rather frustrated trying to figure out how to change the pitch bend range of the Polac VST loader. 09 is the MIDI command, right? And FE is supposed to be pitch bend range. Yet, it makes no difference if I put in 09 FE00 or 09 FEFF. What am I missing?

i think most synths do not support it.
it works for example with linplug's free alpha, where 09 FE00-FE18 define the pb range.
