Can't load Matilde Tracker 2&3

Post by shokef »

I was using buzz for 10+years and have been changing the composing environment. ( Win98 > Win2k > WinXP > WinXP+Parallels on MacOSX )
I have no -major- problems over this transition, but since I updated my environment to [Windows 8 (32bit) / Parallels Desktop 8 / Mac OSX 10.8], buzz start spitting out errors when I try to load Matilde Tracker 2&3 - which are my main sequencers- .
The error says "LoadLibrary (C:\Program Files\...\Generators\Matilde Tracker3.dll) failed / The specified module could not be found".

Does anybody knows how to load MTrk2&3 without errors on same or similar environment?

are the .dlls present in the gear/generators folder?

as a seasoned buzz user i'm sure you've checked, but it's worth a shot - also make sure you have the latest versions of mtrk 1&2.

if you still experience this error, it might be related to a bug mentioned here about machines present in the generators folder not loading. this has not been addressed afaik. you might want to try builds 1480 or before and see if the problem persists, hopefully soon there may be a solution to this issue.

Thank you so much for your replies.

I tried old ver of buzz and as a result, msvc*.dlls worked well for this problem.
Many thanks!

Hi there. I am having exactly the same problem here. Unfortunately the download link above for "msvc.rar" does not seem to be working. Can anybody else point me to what I could do?

I greatly appreciate any help. Cheers!

Hi there,

After searching for some related topics here in the forums I managed to solve the problem. I'm posting my own answer here in case it may be helpful to others going through the same issues.

(1) I downloaded the software "depends.exe" from http://www.dependencywalker.com and ran on the machine DLLs "Matilde Tracker2.dll" and "Matilde Tracker 3.dll".
(2) It told me that I was missing a specific DLL called "msvcr71.dll"
(3) Searching the web I found this SO (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1596 ... tributable) post explaining that such DLL could be obtained by installing the older "Microsoft .NET 1.1"
(4) I downloaded the package, installed and found the msvcr71.dll inside a subfoler of C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\
(5) I copied this DLL to my Buzz root folder and voilà, the machines are working again.
(6) The procedure also solved a similar issue with "BTDSys PeerCtrl.dll" and "Quence PyBuzz.dll"

Just to be complete, my machine runs Windows 7 Professional, and the latest Buzz (1495).

Cheers!

Same exact issue here; your process resolved it perfectly, thank you.
