Jeskola Noise Generator-XP

Hi fellows,

I haven't been buzzing for like 1 year now, 'cause I have really annoying problems with buzz since I've reinstalled my system. It's really a shame :'-(
One of them is that buzz (vers. 1.472) cannot find Jeskola Noise Generator-XP although it is in the gear\generator folder. This problem doesn't appear with the simple Jeskola Noise Generator. Can anyone help me please, please, please! I miss it so much, but have hardly time for intensive research and I couldn't find anything on the forums so far.

Thanks a lot in advance!
Matthias

PS: I've posted the same thing on buzzmachines.com

and I just noticed that I got the same problem with:

"cheapo amp" and "cheapo do-nothing"

however there's one difference:

when I've already opened buzz and type in the name of the effect I want to put in "Jeskola Noise Generator-XP" appears blue and the the 2 cheapo effects red

thats how its supposed to be, generators are blue, effects are red.

as for the cheapo amp problem: i use it a lot and never have this problem, make sure you have the latest version and make sure you have msvcr70.dll and msvcr71.dll in your buzz root.
for noise xp i don't know, does it load at all or not ? if not you lack a dependancy probably: use http://www.dependencywalker.com on the dll.

i think all those problems are because you lack dependencies.

Thanks UNZ for you fast replies!! :)

I'm not really familiar with how Buzz ist actually working, so I have to ask this noobish question: what is the buzz root and where can I find it?

about the dependancy problem:
1. when I open the simple Jeskola Noise Generator.dll in dependancy i already get an error message telling me that DSPLIB.DLL cannot be found (and also some other stuff: Error: At least one required implicit or forwarded dependency was not found. etc.)

2. when I open the Jeskola Noise Generator-XP.dll it cannot find DSPLIB.DLL AND MSVCR70.DLL

3. for Cheapo do-nothing it's then just the MSVCR70.DLL taht cannot be found

what does that all tell me and what can I do?

put those missing files in your buzz root directory (the path where you installed buzz)

By 'root' he means the 'bottom' of the Buzz installation folder (ie not in any subfolders) - Normally C:\Program Files (x86)\Jeskola Buzz\ (erm I think that's the folder, you know when you do something automatically for 10 years but don't take notice of what you're doing !)

Put these files in that folder -

DSPLIB.DLL ( http://jeskola.net/archive/buzz/1.1/dsplib.dll )
msvcr70.dll ( http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-f ... ml?msvcr70 - note click the 'Download Zip File' near the bottom of the page and not any of that other crap on that site, then unzip the files into the root folder )
msvcr71.dll ( http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-f ... ml?msvcr71 - also just click the Download Zip File' )

Hi guys,

sorry that I haven't answered earlier. I was really really busy during the days before christmas days and when I visited my homeplace I didn't have the PC with me... but now that I'm back again I finally want to solve my buzz problems.

Putting all the 3 mentioned files, which pete uploaded, in the rootfolder somehow solved my old problem (I can open all my tracks now, buzz isn't asking for Jeskola Noise Generator-XP etc.), but apparentely created another one:

Now if I want to open any effect or generator (but VSTi) by double clicking on it I get this strange message:

D:\...\Buzz208\Themes\Default Glass\ParameterWindow.xaml

'Failed to create a 'Command' from the text
'l:ParameterWindowVM.PresetsCommand'.' Line number '93' and line position '27'.

Well well, while I was writing these lines I realized that, if I take another theme instead it all works out fine! :) Actually I like the oldshool Default Glass the most, but I can live with it! :) So I'd say problem is solved.
Thanks a lot for your help!
