peertrigger some questions

So ive been noodlin round with peertrigger lately (triggered by a beat triggering qsamo ) .. some definite fun to be had ! was wondering if those of you who have used it have found a good way to have it trigger more random notes (instead of the same note be triggered many times in a row depending on sensitivity and what not ) . Ive found that using peerlfo to control the note value of peertrigg is pretty interesting tho somewhat for lack of better words stringent .

Try using PeerTrigger to trigger an Accumulator.

I've used Buzz for over a decade and it wasn't until last year (or maybe the year before) that I even begun to use peer machines and it's opened a huge new compositional world for me. I've only really got to grips with Peer CTRL, Peer LFO & Peer Chord so am yet to master Accumulator, N+1, Peer ADSR, Peer Env, Peer Trigger or Peer State, but it's been full chaining things together to see what they do.

This is probably the best thing I've done with just peer machines for generating all percussion and notes - http://www.ilovecubus.co.uk/pete/cubus_ ... Window.mp3

Be aware that some of the older peers can't control some of the newer ones. Sorry I can't be more specific but if you find you're tearing your hair out 'cos something won't work, it may just not work.

PeerTrig is fabulous, my best chain is with peerscale, assign peertrig-->peer scale peer me and set these params on peer trig: volume and dynamic to have the notes changing on the scale you have chosen, i've many example of this, of course accumulator is parfect with peertrig.
Try this: a microphone (polac input)peertrig and peerscale, tap on the microphone, and you can play tunes, i've made a short musical piece like that, three music stands,3 cheap microphones, buzz, 3 peertrig and 3 peerscale, some other peer machines, and poeple play music taping on the music stand, funny. :ugeek:
With a real percusionnist, the results are impressive, because a good performer has a perfect control of his sound, and he can have a great control of the notes, just magic!

I knew there had to be a better way of doing it - I'd been running the mic through a vocoder as the modulator and the synth as the carrier (that got notes from a peer machine) so the louder the input to the mic the more you could hear from the synth.

Nice. Cinematic. Felt like I should have been watching something dark and scary.

Im still having a bit of a hard time getting my head around how accumulator works .
right now i have : utrk (playing a beat )----> peertrigg---->accumlator (note) ---->qsamo (note) . I can get the idea of 'use a , use b or random' but it doesnt seem to do anything . does any one by chance have a very simple bmx using accumulator in this sort of way roughly i could check out .

Tho reading other threads i can see that others have had this problem but dont really see a solution .. EDIT

i went in and changed the template and it works fine now . thanks a lot! I can already tell that im going to be getting lots of use / experimentation with this . .. gotta get in and start using the command / arguments . .

I'm glad this came up, because I've checked out some examples with accumulator and still have no idea what it does. I had the same noise generator error - how did you alter the template to get it to load?

Edit the template in notepad or something and remove the noise generator. It's only there to feed a signal to PeerTrigger anyway, so you can replace it with anything that will provide short bursts of sound.

Funny, I've never had any problem with NGXP.

I've changed the template so it uses Kibibu Doof instead of Noise XP.

It seems you use the skined version, maybe the name is different :|

No, doesn't have a skin. The file is "Jeskola Noise Generator-XP.dll" last modified 27/09/2002 01:24, the version from the Buzzmachines Massive Pack Feb2004.

strangely, I still get the missing machine error, even though i have kibibu doof installed as well.

templates are case sensitive. look if the spelling of the machine in the xml file and in your gear dir is identical.

So is that Peer feedback? PeerTrig is assigned to Peerscale which is assigned to PeerTrig? Woah.

peer feedback ? isnt there something to prevent that sort of thing ? Ive never even thought about it .
