Unassigning midi controls to vsts

I have an m audio axiom 64 midi controller.

I have noticed that many of the knobs have been automatically assigned to midi controls...particularly with elektro studio VSTs...

Is there a way of removing these assignments in a simple way?

Automap?

Same thing happens with my novation mk2, i find automap unbearable, i don't use anymore.
i think this happen only if automap is selected in buzz/polac asio driver, but i'm not sure

There's an option called "disable vst-internal cc's" in the loader preferences(per-plugin tab).

In addition to what Frank has mentioned you may need a hard reset on your controller as well, that usually comes handy in my case. I have an axiom 49 and it all follow the same procedure for the resetting process. Hold plus (+) and negative (-) buttons somewhere on the top left of your controller and turn it of from the back. This will reset all of the parameters to the factory defaults and saves you whole a lot of time.
