this is kind of silly, but i figured i'd post it anyway:
"2-4-6 buzzed buzz contest"
drink 4-6 beers in rapid succession (say within the span of 2 hours), then give yourself 2 hours to write a 2 minute tune.
you can use any machines or samples, the key thing is to make sure you have a buzz and time yourself to 2 hours writing the track.

Make your own cover/interpretation of Scarborough fair.
All tricks allowed. No holds barred.
Definite success and this tune could use some new versions.

Wow! cool vid anders, was incredible to hear this song in a bossa nova version, a jazz version, a folk pagan metal (?!!) or a manga version
And a good idea for a contest too.
szaszhareen, can we do it with 'rosé' wine instead

I'm french you know...

Another idea.
To rewrite the soundtrack of this :

You can use the existing backtrack or not, as you want.
A better version :

anders, awesome video and idea! I could definitely come up with something for this since i'm already familiar with playing a simplified version of that song and it's one of my favorites.
mag, rose sounds delicious. j'approuve.
i think a new soundtrack for the chaplin video is a cool concept, but a little above my skill level. i'd love to see what others come up with.

Another idea :
SWEET SEVENTEEN - REMIXING OSKARI !
I have stumbled across my old cd to collect bmx/bmw made by the buzz community.
I have found around
3000 bmx/bmw that are not from me (or just a few) and normaly not at BuzzTunes, but a lot cames from buzzmusic before the crash. They came too from the ancestor of buzzmusic/buzztunes (buzztrack ?).
So, I found some Oskari's files. And one is a starter for what was called Buzz Compo.
It's called Monkey and its just one loop. It's LeChuck Theme from the video game Monkey Island (
http://youtu.be/wnAghYUxLms ).
In the blah-blah section of the bmx are written the rules :
BuzzCompo - BC00 - Test Run - 5/7/2000
Entries due: 5/7/2000 4:30PM EST
How to enter: DCC entries to cmicali on EFNET IRC or ICQ them to cmicali (444904) or AIM them to cmicali2
General Rules
-----------------------
+ You can add up to 2 more copies of each machine that are supplied in the template for a total of 3 (including the origional)
+ You can add one sample that is <= 200kb in size
+ You can connect the machines however you would like
- You cannot add new machines that are not already in the template
- You cannot process the given samples in an external editor (that includes the waveedit.dll)
Any questions MSG cmicali on EFNET IRC, ICQ (444904), or AIM cmicali2
Sounds good to me as rules.
PS : I am searching a solution to put these files online, I have only 1 Go from my provider and alltogether there is about 1,5 Go of bmx/bmw. As you can expect there is some craps but there are a lot of very interesting stuff.
PS2 : why sweet seventeen ? Buzz is born in 1997
