Bit of a basic question - trackers?

I've been using nothing but utracker and samplegrid for a few years. What's the advantage to using Matilde? I only use it with necessity for higher res samples at the moment.

no real advantage to using matilde besides the hi rez samples. unwieldy tracker is a bit more powerful because it has a few more effect commands available.

Yeah that's what I've thought.. but it seems to be really popular so I'm guessing the reason isn't just habit. Compatibility maybe?

Maybe also because Mtrk was there before Utrk.

Familiarity.

If you use offsets alot, for breaks etc. Utrk would suit you better. SGrid has its own strengths, I use it and Mtrk. There's also the alt version of Utrk where the note column is on the far left and I used to use it instead of Mtrk before the Mtrk updates.

I've run into issues with Utrk where 'clicking' between samples have been an issue since new buzz, has anyone resolved that or figured out what causes it?

So general consensus is carry on using utrack unless it's a higher res?

use whatever works until a better tracker comes along ;)

Absoultely. I use Matilde just because of the familiarity of the commands and layout due to my migration from FastTracker. For me the only time I use uTrk is to use the loopfit command for samples >256 ticks (due to the limit imposed on the '11' command in Matilde) so yeah use whatever works for you ....

Hah.. Can we expect a tracker from you this year as well as the multio mixer, and wave editor stuff your helping on?.. (that was a joke btw the mixer seems like it could rock hard.. and everyone on buzz (unless crazy) want's an awesome wave editor.

@mcbpete I used to use fasttracker2 too.. (hmm) back in the day. Always found buzz a different mindset.. used to use pro to track when I started on buzz tho =// until I found out about the newer ones.

Guess I can stick with utrack then.

I use matilde because of e9!
in other words, familiarity. but I am having some problems lately.

How do I get that sane utracker?

as we are here, have anyone thouht of making a super idm/breakcore/crazybeats tracker? like as a utracker with more effects, like dblue glitch stuff?

I know utracker was designed like that, but we could go even further, couldnt we?/ Im just dreaming here...

Utracker has it's own parameter column exclusively for retriggering. Quoted from another forum as I'm away from my Buzz machine:

Parameters, in order:
- Tick subdivide
- Note delay
- Note retrigger (value 00 resets norm position and pitch)
- Offset
- Stretch (0 is reset)
- Note
- Sample
- Velocity (0x40 means 100)
- Pan (0x40 means center)
- Effect Command 1
- Effect Data 1
- Effect Command 2
- Effect Data 2

yes Unwieldy Tracker already is the super idm beats tracker...it already has all the effects you need to do stuff like those cheesy glitch plugins. Making that stuff too easy kinda ruined IDM anyway.

yep i agree. Retrigger is much more convenient. Unfortunately it doesn't support 96khz sample rate.

I pretty much only use utrk ,one of the things ive has issues with it tho is that some of the effects dont always work the way i think they are going to .. granted I have to say its a beast for doing breakcore (assigning retrig to a fader via peer cntrl is the shit) Buzz/Utrk is the only tracker i know of out there where you can do this .. also the sample pool thing is really cool .
