Graphical column view (ctrl+g) - increase width?

Somehow I've only just realised how awesome and useful this feature is; automation is going to be a lot more fun
But is there any way to make the horizontal bar wider? It'd be awesome to make ultra-precise adjustments. Maybe a gui.xml tweak?

May be one could also implenment the current value shown as a number in that bar

I use it a lot for piano and drum sequencing. Having a wider bar is a feature I would use at lot as well.
