Switched from iLKke machines (extended) to default, and ran into this. The new machines added after the switch were fine and had the default look, while ones loaded prior to the switch were stuck with the other theme.

yes, it always behaved like this.
since the parameterwindow became customizeable.
you need to restart buzz (internal xaml parser) in order display parameterwindow theme related changes, so it seems.

you can delete the machine and then press ctrl-z or undo, and it will be updated to the currently selected theme. i always do this when testing xaml changes.
